UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANDREW SNOW, JR., OF NFHV BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESlGN FOR A GLASS RECEPTACLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,179, dated January 18, 1898.
Application filed November 3,1897. Serial K0. 657,298. Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
7 Be it known that I, ANDREW SNOW, J12, of New Bedford, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Design for Glass Receptacles, of which the following is a specification.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a glass receptacle embodying my design. Fig. 2 is another side elevation taken at a different angle of the same receptacle, and Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view on the line 3 3 of Figs. 1 and 2.
As represented in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my invention consists of rows of smooth-surfaced concavities extending from the bottom of the receptacle toward the top thereof and rows of parallel prism-like ribs, the rows of concavities and ribs alternating.
A indicates the rows of smooth-surfaced concavities a, and B the rows of prism-like ribs b. The rows of concavities and ribs are vertically arranged. As the receptacle tapers upwardly from the bottom the concavities a gradually diminish in area from the bottom of the receptacle upwardly.
What I claim is The design for a glass receptacle as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses, on this 27th day of September, A. D. 1897.
ANDREW SNOW, Jn.
