FRANKLIN l3. PEASE, OF ROCllES'lE'R, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SCOOP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N 0. 26,746, dated March 9, 1897.
Application filed August 5, 1896- serial No. 603,90 Term of patent 14 years.
To all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANKLIN B. PEAsn, of Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Scoops, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, showing a perspective View of the design.
The leading feature of my design consists in the shape or configuration of the scoop, and, as shown in the drawing, it embodies the rim A, composed of a Wide and relatively thin strip of material, preferably Wood, rounded at the rear and with the substantially parallel sides slightly inclined; Extending across between the sides of the rim and in rear portion of the center is the rectangular crossbar B, from which extend the substantially parallel forwardly-projecting teeth or fingers G, tapering slightly at their forward portions.
D indicates a cross-bar connecting the fingers O and the sides of the rim forward of the cross-bar B.
E indicates small rods extending from the rear of the cross-bar Cto the rear or rounded portion of the rim A.
F indicates the handle, extending from the cross-bar B rearwardly and upwardly, resting upon the rim A and secured by a bolt G.
1-1 indicates the gripping portion or handle proper on the end of the handle F, but the shape of this handle I-I may be varied Without essentially altering the character of my design.
I claim The design for scoops substantially as here-
