Be it known that I, SAMUEL MCCARTNEY, of the city of St. Louis, in the county of St. Louis, and State of Missouri. have originated and designed a new Design for a Trade-Mark, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing making part of this specification.

My design consists of two foul anchors in combination with the initials S, Mc, and C, arranged substantially in the position shown in the drawing annexed hereto. This design is intended to be used as a brand, and the ring, shank, and arm of the anchor, as well as the several initials, will have such breaks in them as may be necessary to give the requisite strength to the stencil or other plate by which the impression is made.
