dlgs tlgrbulc rrfrmb lo in Hirsi cticrs h-itnii :nih making pant nf lgc 5min.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL R. WILMOT, of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield, and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Oil Cans; and I do herehjtr declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a portion of this specification, which is a side elevation and part profile of an oil can formed according to my design.
The body A of the can is made of semi-spheroidal shape, and has formed upon its lower edge au annular downwardly extending rim, a, which also extends slightly outward beyond the sides of the body A, and the transverse shape of which is indicated more clearly in the profile portion of the drawing. The bottom of the aforesaid body A is made slightly convex within the rim a, as shown in profile at b. Situated centrally upon the top of the semi-spheroidal body A, is a neck, c, which, for a minute space at its base, is cylindrical in shape, as ata', but the main portion of which has its sides formed on a curve and decreases in diameter towards the top. as shown in the drawing. Formed around or upon the edges of the top of this neck c is an annular bead, e, the upper surface of which, taken transversely, is nearly or quite semicircular, as represented in the profile part of the figure, and which is milled at its periphery as indicated at e'. Extending upward from the neck c, within the annular bead e, is the tipf, which tapers gradually from its base to its upper end.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for an oil can, substantially as herein described and shown.
