Be it known that I, OZIA A. ESSIG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Canton, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Designs for Plow-13eams, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

Figure 1 is a side view of the plow-beam as a whole. Fig. 2 shows the central or intermediate portion of the beam detached. Fig. 3 is a crosssection on line aux, Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a cross section on the line 3/ y, Fig. 1. Fig. 5is a side view of a modified form of the intermediate portion of the plow.

The class to which this design relates is that of plows, and the design pertains to the beam or the means for applying the draft to the plow proper, the purpose being to provide a beam which shall be more ornamental and tasty in appearance than have been those which have been constructed in accordance with designs heretofore known. The beam has an upper portion, E, the lower part, E, and an intermediate part. The upper part, E, is situated on curved or broken lines, as shown, the curve or bend appearing at or near the rear end. The lower part, E, is substantially straight from end to end. Between these the beam has an intermediate part, generally indicated by F F F", the upper and lower lines of which conform to the upper and lower parts, E and E, above described. At fff there are lateral projections extending the intermediate portion of the beam, the relation of these lateral projections and the said intermediate portion being clearly shown in Figs. 3 and 4. Between the upper and lower parts of this intermediate part of the beam there are bars with open spaces between them, the bars being shown at f. In Fig. 5 asingle bar, H, is shown between the ends of the central part of the design.

Vi hat I claim is 1. The design for a plow-beam herein shown and described, the same consisting of a beam having a lower surface substantially straight throughout its length, and an upper surface, curved as shown, and having the websfff and vertical bars f between these surfaces, said webs and bars being sunken relatively to the parts above and below them, substantially as set forth.

2. The design for a plow beam herein shown and described, the same consisting ofa beam having a lower surface substantially straight throughout its length, and an upper surface, curved as shown, and having the websff f, and vertical bars f between the said surfaces, and the vertical outwardly-bulging bars H H, substantially as set forth.
