To all whom it may coacewtf Be it known that l, HENRY J. SAUNDERS, of fvlinneapolis, Hennepin county, Minnesota, have invented'certain new and useful Improvements in Tents, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a tent having means for permanently dividing its interior into a series of independent compartments and also providing means to allow two or more compartments to be in communication with one another, the tent being designed particularly for camps, talring the place of a series of small tents and effecting a considerable saving in space occupied and in the cost of the tent.
My invention consists generally in a tent, having upright side walls and a roof and partitions secured to said side walls and roof and extending to the peak of the tent and eifectually separating one compartment therein from another.
In the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, the figure is a perspective view of a tent, embodying my invention.
ln the drawing, 2 represents the end wall of the tent, 3 a series of panels, forming the upright side walls. Side poles t are provided at intervals and center poles 5 are provided, passing through rings 6 in the apex of the tent and supporting the roof thereof. Ropes 7 are attached to the poles and to stakes 8, driven into the ground in the usual way. At intervals in the tent, l provide partitions 9, which are permanently sewed at the edges to the side walls and the roof and extend to the apex of the roof,

l claim as my invention:-
A tent, comprising a roof portion and upright side and end walls, and side and center poles, and a flexible partition extending transversely of the interior of the tent and having a lower portion that is permanently attached to the upright side walls of the tent, and an upper portion having edges which lit against the roof of the tent and extend to the peak thereof and are permanently attached thereto, andl said partition being' capable of folding with the tent and forming a permanent adjunct thereto, and said partition when the tent is set up dividing the interior into independent compartments, substantiallyas described.
