Description
ntd tant HENRY BAVR'IH, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO.
Letters Patent No. 90,482, dated 'May 25, 1869.4
IMPROVEMENT IN FEED-TABLES FOR PRINTING-PRESSES.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
NN- w- To whom 'it may concern:
- upward and forward from the delivery-edge of the feedboard.
Figure I is a perspective view of a feed-board provided with my attachment.l
Figure 2 is a side elevation of the same.
vThe preferred formof my feed-board ,A has, projecting from its under side, two or more ears, of which one, B, only, is shown, which ears receive a shaft, "C, upon which the said board is supported at any convenient angle, and held thereto by one or more set-screws D, or other suitable device.
Firmly attached to, and projecting obliquely upward and outward from the delivery-edge of the feed-board,
are one or more ngers, E, which may be either straight or curved upward, as represented.
The action of the fingers E upon the sheets, when the latter are pressed forward against them, is to cause the uppermost ones to extend forward of those below, so as to be easily grasped and separated, one at a time, by the attendant I have described my invention applied to an adjustable feed-board, but it may be applied to a board xed at a specilic declination; or the said fingers might be applied'to an ordinary horizontal .feed-board; or any other mode ofy securing 'the adjustment of the feedboard may be employed.
For example, the feed-board might have a pair of trunnions, occupying suitable bearings, and held to the desired angle by a screw-clamp or otherwise.
I claim herein as new, and of my invention- 1. The provision of a nger or fingers, E, bent or inclined upward from the delivery-edge of a paperfeed board, substantially as and for the 'purpose set forth. f 1
2. A feed-board, A, having fingers E, and capable of being set to any desired angle, substantially as described.
In testimony of which invention, I hereunto set my hand.
HENRY BARTH. Witnesses:
GEO. H. KNIGHT, J uns H. LAYMAN.
