To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, WILLIAM J. (Ann WRIGHT, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Manhattan, of the city of New York, in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Elastic-Fluid T urbines, of which the following is a specification, reference be ing had to the accompanying drawii'igs, forming a part hereof. i
The object of this invention is to improve the means for controlling and regulating the speed of elastic fluid turbines.
The invention is concerned with the means for controlling the admission of'motive fluid through the speed of the turbine and with the means for determining the admission of the motive fluid to condensing or non-condensing nozzles according to the pressure conditions. within the turbine.
The invention will bemore fully described hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings in which, for purposes of explanationand illustration of the nature of the invention, there is shown a practical embodiment thereof. together with modified forms of certain parts.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a viewin ver tical central section of a steam turbine which embodies the invention. Fig. 2 is a view in end elevation of the turbine shown in Fig. 1. Fig; 3 is a transverse section on the plane indicated by the line 33 of Fig. 1.
