The combination of a j amb havi ya transverse recess, a sash stop, a lower sas having a stile provided with a vertical groove, at its up er end, an upper sash having a stile pro-- vi ed with a vertlcal groove at its lower end, a arting strip provided with a notch in front o the transverse recess, a single slidable lockbar provided with inner and outer transverse tongues and a rod secured to the lock-bar in line therewith and extending through the sash stop.
