PATENT OFFICE.
WALTER M. ELLETT AND ROLLO M. VICK, OF ALLIANCE, OHIO.
PARTITION-PLATE Fon oRi-:Dur-nEmSTERs.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 791,546, dated June 6, 1905.
Application lilecl August 26, 1904. Serial Ng. 222,247.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that we, WALTER M. ELLETT and RQLLO M. VIoK, citizens of the United States, residing at Alliance, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Partition- Plates for Credit-Registers; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the figures of refer ence marked thereon, in which- Figure 1 is a vertical section showing a number of plates placed in proper relative position. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of one of the partition-plates. v
The present invention has relation to partition-plates for credit-registers; and it consists in the novel construction hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claim.
Similar numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts in both figures of the drawings.
In the drawings, 1 represents the registercase, which is of any desired form or style and is simply illustrated to show the connection of our improved partition-plates. The plates 2 are formed of any size especially designed to hold credit-slips and of course are of a size to correspond with the size and shape of the credit slips commonly used.
The partition-plates are arranged in tiers and a single register may have a single tier or any desired number of tiers, reference being had to the capacity of the register designed to be constructed. The plates 2are each provided with the cut-out portions 3, which cut-out portions are for the purpose of providing means for' manipulating the credit-slips designed to be placed upon said partition-plates. The partition-plates 2 are each provided with the upward and downward extending anges 4 and 5, the lianges 5 being provided with the tablet-holding clips 6.
The upward-extending flanges 4 are for the purpose of providing ledges for the creditslips to abut against when placed upon the partitions 2. The upward-extending flanges 4 are each provided with the extensions 7, whichv extensions may be of the form shown or they may be of any other desired form and are for the purpose of extending over the upper credit-slips 'for a distance equal to the length ot' the extensions 7, or substantially so,
by which arrangement none of the creditslips will be accidentally displaced. It willbe understood that by our peculiar arrangement the forward ends of the creditslips will be between the upper faces of the partitions 2 and the lower faces of the extensions 7, and in order to remove a credit slip or slips it will be necessary to remove the same from under the extensions 7, after which they can be removed for any purpose desired. f
For the purpose of providing room for a number of credit-slips upon a single partition-plate the extension of each partitionplate should be spaced a short distance away from the top of said plate, substantially as Y illustrated in the drawings.
We do not desire to be confined to the exact form of the extension herein shown, as the only object designed to be accomplished is to provide an overextending portion, under which the ends of the various credit-slips can be located. f
Having fully described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is.-
A partition-plate for credit-registers having a credit-slip abutting liange located at its forward end, andformed of a length'less than the width of the plate, an extension located at an angle to said abutting flange and said extension spaced from the upper face of the plate and located substantially parallel with said plate, substantially as and forthe purpose specied.
In testimony thatywev claim the above we have hereunto` subscribed our names in the presence of two witnesses.
' WALTER M. ELLETT. ROLLO M. VICK.
