V No. 777,354. PATENTED DEC. 13, 1904.
A. H. SINSHEIMER.
GARMENT HANGER.
APPLICATION FILED JULY 12,1904.
N0 MODEL.
UNITED STATES Patented December 13, 1904,,
PATENT OFFICE.
GARMENT-HANGER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 777,354, dated December 13, 1904.
Application filed July 12, 1904:.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, AMELIA H. SINSHEIMER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York. have invented a new and Improved Garment- I-langer, of which the following is a full, clear,
and exact description.
The invention relates to apparel apparatus; and its object is to provide a new and improved garment-hanger more especially designed for supporting ladies waists and like garments in such a manner that the collar of the garment is properly retained in a position to prevent it from losing its shape.
The invention consists of novel features and parts and combinations of the same, as will be more fully described hereinafter and then pointed out in the claims.
A practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which the figure is a perspective View of the improvement.
The garment-hanger is preferably made of wire and is provided with a skeleton collar A, from which extend the side arms B for supporting the shoulder portion of the garment, the collar of which fits around the skeleton collar A of the hanger. The skeleton collar A is preferably made of a lower ring A, an upper ring A and connecting-rods A for connecting the said rings rigidly with each other, and the said rings are preferably pro vided with spider-arms A A for giving the desired rigidity to the rings, and hence to the entire skeleton collar A. of the shank of a suspending-hook C is rigidly connected with the spider-arms A A at their middle portions, and the said suspend- The lower portion $eria1No. 216,220. (No model.)
ing-hook 0 extends upwardly to permit of supporting the garment-hanger from a closethook or other suitable support.
By referring to the drawing it will be seen that the side arms B extend rigidly from the lower ring A, so that the collar of the garment, resting on the side arms B, extends in an upward direction around the skeleton col lar A. Now by the arrangement described a ladys waist can be readily placed in position on the garment-hanger so as to support the waist in the usual manner on the arms B and also to sustain the collar of the waist in proper shape to prevent it from losing its shape.
The device is very simple and durable in construction and can be cheaply manufactured.
Having thus described my invention. I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A garment-hanger comprising an approximately circular support for the collar of the garment, and arms extending from the support in opposite directions.
2. A garment-hanger comprising a skeleton collar, a suspending-hook on the said collar, and arms extending from the skeleton collar in opposite directions.
3. A garment-hanger comprising a skeleton collar, a suspending-hook on the said collar, and arms extending in opposite directions from the periphery of the collar at the lower edge thereof.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
AMELIA H. SINSHEIMER.
