SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 752,817, dated February 23, 1904.

Be it known that I, AUGUSTA AMALIA BERG- MAN, a subject of the King of Sweden and Norway, residing at Stockholm, in the Kingdom of Sweden, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Phonograph-Tables; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

The present invention relates to a kind of table arranged in a practical manner for carrying a phonograph and which is provided with a number of apertures or recesses in which the phonograph-cylinders are kept. The recesses are intended to hold one cylinder each and are so lined inside that the cylinders are perfectly protected against destruction. By providing these recesses for the phonograph-cylinders in the table on which the phonograph is placed the cylinders are made easily accessible for insertion into the phonograph. The phonograph-table at the same time is an ornamental piece of furniture for the drawing-room.

and having a phonograph placed thereon. Fig. 2 shows a horizontal section on line 0 (Z of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows the phonograph-table viewed from above, the phonograph being removed. Fig. 4 shows a detail as explained below.

The table is provided with a heavy top 1, in which are made vertical holes or recesses 2 for the phonograph-cylinders. The walls of these recesses are lined with some soft material for instance, plush or felting-by which the cylinders cannot possibly be injured. The recesses 2 are covered by a. thin disk 3, located on the top 1 of the table. The disk 3 is composed of three parts, the two outer ones of which can be folded up, being for this purpose attached by hinges to the middle one, which is rotatable about a central post 4, ascending from the top 1. post 4: carries or forms the foot of a smaller table or shelf 5, which is suitably provided with two drawers. The phonograph is placed on this table or shelf 5, as shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 4: shows a vertical section of the smaller table or shelf 5 on line 6 f of Fig. 3. Let into this table or shelf 5 on the upper side is a removable frame 6, into which the base-plate of the phonograph is deposited, so that the phonograph stands steadily. For the frame 6 other frames can be substituted adapted to different sizes of base-plates of the phonographs. The drawers in the table or shelf 5 can be used, for instance, for storing appurtenances of the phonograpln In the phonograph-table'shown in the drawings there are fifty recesses 2 for phonographcylinders; but evidently agreater or smaller number of recesses can be provided, if found necessary. Beside each recess 2 an inscription can be made indicating the piece of music or the like contained in the phonograph-cylinder kept in the respective recesses. (See Fig. 3, where a piece of the covering-disk 3 is cut away, leaving a few of the recesses 2 with inscriptions visible.)

I claim- 1. In a phonograph-table, the combination with a heavy top 1 supported on a foot and provided with vertical recesses 2 having their walls lined with some soft material and serving to receive the cylinders belonging to a phonograph, of a thin covering-disk .3 located above the top 1 so as to cover the recesses 2 and which disk is horizontally rotatable about the center of the table and composed of three parts the two outer ones of which can be folded up, being for this purpose attached by means of hinges to the central part, for the purpose set forth.

In a phonograph-table, the combination with a heavy top 1 supported on a foot and provided with vertical recesses 2 having their walls lined with some soft material, and serving to receive the cylinders belonging to a phonograph, of a thin covering-disk 3 located above the top 1 so as to cover the recesses 2 and which disk is horizontally rotatable about the center of the table and composed of three parts the two outer ones of which can be folded up, being for this purpose attached by means of hinges to the central part, and a smaller shelf 5 provided with drawers, said shelf being intended for carrying the phono- 5 graph and having a foot consisting of a central post 4 ascending from the heavy top 1 and about which the thin covering-disk 3 is rotatable, for the purpose set forth.

In a phonograph-table, the combination I with a heavy top 1 supported on a foot and provided with vertical recesses 2 having their walls lined with some soft material, and serving to receive the cylinders belonging to a phonograph, of a thincovering-disk 3 located 5 above the top '1 so as to cover the recesses 2 and which disk is horizontally rotatable about the center of the table and composed of three parts the two outer ones of which can be folded up, beingfor this purpose attached by means of hinges to the central part, and a 20 smaller shelf 5 provided with drawers, said shelf being intended for'carrying the phono-v graph and having a foot consisting of a central post 4 ascending from the heavy top 1 and about which the thin covering-disk 8 is 5 rotatable, and a frame 6 removably let into the smaller shelf 5 and in which the base-plate of the phonograph is deposited, for the purpose set forth. 7
