lister plows and planters, and more particu' larly to improved covering-wheels and mounting therefor, this application being a division of application for patent filed by me April 9, 1903, and designated by Serial No. 151,831.

The object of the present invention is to provide improved means for adjusting the angle of inclination of the covering-wheels; and it consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts, as will be more fully hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a view in end elevation, illustrating my improvements; and Fig. 2 is a View of the axlebearing bracket removed.

1 represents the frame of a sulky-lister converging at its rear end, where a tubular bracket 2 is securely bolted and supported on a standard 3. To the lower end of said standard an adjustable wheel-aXle-bearing bracket 4 is secured by a bolt 5, passed through a sleeve 6 on the bracket and through standard 3 therein. The bracket 4 is provided with notched or toothed elongated openings or slots 6 to receive bolts 7, passed through ears 8 on the lower side of sand-bands 9, in which axle-stubs 10 are secured, and on said stubs the covering-wheels 11 are mounted. Ears 12 are provided on the upper side of sand-bands 9 and perforated for the reception of bolts 13, passed through holes 14 in bracket l and pivotally support the axle-stubs, permitting their angle of inclination to be varied by adjusting bolts 7 in the notched or toothed openings or Divided and this application filed January 20, 1904. I Having fully described my invention, what I I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isv 1. In a sulky-lister, the combination witha bracket secured tothe frame thereof, of sandbands having cars at both sides, bolts pivotally securing the upper ears, bolts passing through the lower ears and through elongated slots in the bracket, said elongated slots having notched walls, to clamp the sand-bands at any angle, stubs secured in said sand-bands, and covering-wheels on said stubs.

2. In a sulky-lister, the combination with a standard, and a frame supported at its rear end by said standard, of a bracket secured to the lower end of said standard and having openings therein and elongated slots curved concentrically with said openings and having notched walls, sandbands,stubs in said sandbands, covering-wheels on the stubs, perforated ears on opposite sides of the sand-bands, bolts passed through one ear of each of said sand-bands and through the openings in the bracket to pivotally support the stubs, and other bolts passed through the other ears on the sandbands and through the elongated slots: in the bracket to secure the stubs and covering-wheels at the desired angle of inclination.
