TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN Bre it known that I, ISAAQ FBEED, of the city of Harrisburg, in the county of Dauphin, State of Pennsylvania,.'have invented a new and improved Spring-Seat for Chamber-Vessels; and I do hereby declare that'the following is a full andexact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

The nature of my invention consists in providing a spring-seat for chamber-'vesselswhen it is desirable to, secure an easy and comfortable seat by arranging a row or rows of springs, (spiral or any other form answering the same purpose,) underthe seat, and rmly securing 'the ends to an upper. and lower board, the upper board being upholstered and forming the'seat.

To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proeee'fl'to describe its construction and operation, reference being had 'to the 'annexed drawings, making part of this specification, in which-` Figure 1 is a front view, showing the seat applied to chamber-pots forthe use of invalida.l

Figure 2 is the plan of the lower board, showing the springs'fastenedto it. A

Figure' 3 is a section through the centre of the seat, showing the upper and lower boards, and the rims to prevent its falling 0H', and to adapt it tothe ldifferent sizes of pots.

AIn the figures, A represents the upper board, which forms the seat, and which may be upholstered. B is gthezlower board, to which the loweredges of the Springs are fastened. C are springs, fastened to'the upper and lower boards. D and E are the rims, made of tin or some light material, which fits over the rim of the chamber `and preventsthe seat falling oil'. The springs may be hid from view by tacking some ornamental covering to ,the upper board A, and letting it hang down so as to cover the sprinffs and the rim D. The weight of the person sitting on the seat is thrown on the springs C.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- The arrangement of the springs C, the boards A B, und the rims D E, as and for the purpose spccied.
