Letters Patent No. 64,837, dated May 21, 1867.
IMPROVED PORTABLE SEAT FOR DRIVERS UPON CARS.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;
Be it known that we, JAMES F. CAMPBELL and CORNELIUS TINNEY, of Williamsburg, in the county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented anew and improved Portable Seat; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
The present invention relates to'a portable seat more especially intended for use by drivers upon street railway cars, which seat is of such a construction that it can be readily applied and hung to the dasher of a street railway car, or detached therefrom, and when on the dnsher adjusted to the position desired by the driver,'
and to most suit his comfort. In the accompanying plate of drawings our improved portable seat is illustrated-- Figure 1 being a perspective yiew of the seat as hung to the dasher of a street railway car.

We claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- I The upright or staff B with hook atone end, and provided with a rod, E, having seat Grand strap H, substantially as and for the purpose described. v
