Description

@latian tntw stmt @Wire OSCAR HANKS, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO VLetters Patent No. 63,383, dated April :2, 1857.
IMPROVEMENT IN BAG-HOLDERS.
ftlge tlgrhnlc nfrrnh' in in flgrsc gtrttors nnnt :mt maling part nf tlg: smm.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, OSCAR HANKS, of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton, in the State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Machine for Holding Grain Sachs while being filled; and I do hereby deelare that the following is a. full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing in perspective, making a. part of thisspeeification.
The nature of my inventi'on consists in the construction of two frames and fastening them together by two bolts or pins, which allows them to close or open. In the top cross-piece of each frame are two pins, which hold the sack while being filled. 0.1 the ends of the two lower cross-pieces are Wheels, which allow an easy movement of the machine and sack.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I construct my seek-holder of four pieces, as shown at A A A A; these are connected by four cross-pieces, as shown at B B and C C, the whole then forming two oblong frames. These frames are then placed one within the other, and secured together by two bolts, pins, or screws, E E, which serve as the swivel to the frames, and allow them to be made portable by folding close together or expanding them in the form of the letter x. At on end view of the machine, lat or near the top of the cross-pieces B B, are four pins or hooks, D D D D; these pins or hooks are to hold the sack while being filled. At the ends of the lower cross-pieces O C are four Wheels, marked F F F F,,whieh obviate the necessity of lifting the sacl; when filled, but allow it to ..be rolled to its place of deposit.
Its operation is as follows: The frames are slightly opened, the empty sack is placed between the crossd pieces B B, the top edge of the saeh is then turned over or hooked on the pins or hools D D D D. The frames are then expanded, which gives the mouth of the sack a. square form, ready for filling. When fillod the Wheels F F F F allow the machine and saek to be easily moved where desired for deposit. When at its desired place the frame is slightly'compressed, which causes the sae-k to drop; the frame isl then lifted from over the seek, the sack tied, and the operation is complete. i
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-'- The side pieces A A A A, the cross-pieces B B and C C, the pins or hooks D D D D, the Wheels or rollers F F F F, the bolts or pins E E, the whole being,I combined in the manner and for the purpose as herein set forth.
` 0. HANKS.
