Description

(No Model.)
A. G. BULL. STIRRER,
No. 594,824. Patented Nov. 30; 1 897.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANNABELL O. BULL, OF PEORIA, ILLINOIS.
STIRRER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 594,824, dated November 30, 1897.
Application filed October 16, 1896. Serial No. 565 ,907. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ANNABELL O. BULL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Peoria, in the county of Peoria and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stirrers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the'invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in stirring devices, by means of which an eftectivelyoperating, cheap, and durable stirrer is provided.
My invention relates more particularly to a stirrer adapted for culinary purposes and for stirring ingredients for pastry products.
My invention consists, essentially, of spoonshaped stirrers provided with openings therein and of other minor details of construction, hereinafter more particularly pointed out in the specification and claims. 1
That my invention may be more fully understood reference is had to the accompany ing drawing, in which the figure shows my stirrer in connection with a receptacle de-' signed to contain ingredients desired to be stirred.
In the drawing, A is a bucket, and B is the lid therefor.
H is a bail secured in ears h h.
C is a sleeve or ferrule secured to the top of the lid B and around the edges of an opening therethrough, and may be braced in any suitable manner. D is a bolt hearing within said sleeve 0, extending down into the bucket and provided with the threaded portion d at Y the lower extremity thereof.
0 is a sleeve carried'over and around the sleeve 0, and is provided with the threaded solid portion or nut c at the lower portion thereof, and is designedto be screwed upon the threaded portion of bolt D to firmly secure the same in connection with the said bolt, and is adapted to be turned therewith.
E E are spoon-shaped stirrers and are arranged as illustrated in the drawing, and are secured to the sleeve 0, that they may be turned therewith.
F F. are openings in the middle portion of the spoons, provided to allow the ingredients being stirred to pass therethrough. Any number of such spoons may be provided as may be found desirable in applying the stirrer to any particular use.
G is a reach or handle secured to bolt D and adapted to turn the sam e.- G is the handhold upon said handle.
In applying the stirrer to actual use the spoons may be connected with any suitable device for turning the same, the particular means herein shown being only one of many that might be employed for the purpose.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is p 1. In a stirrer, the combination with the receptacle consisting of the body A, and the lid B, provided with the sleeve 0, of the revoluble sleeve 0, carried over and around the said sleeve, and having the concave stirrers E and E, attached thereto and means for revolving the said sleeve and stirrers, substantially as and for the purpose described.
2. In a stirrer, the combination with the receptacle consisting of the body A, and the lid B, the said lid provided with the sleeve C, of the rod D, carried in said sleeve and being threaded at its lower end and-with a suitable handle for turning the same, the revoluble sleeve 0, carried upon the sleeve 0 and formed with a threaded nut at its lower portion for engaging the threads on rod D, and
the concave stirrers E, E provided with the central openings F, F, substantially as and for the purpose described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
