SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 522,599, dated July 10, 1894.
Application filed December 30, 1893. Serial 110.495.215. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANDREW KAISER, a citizen of the United States, residing atOolumbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stovepipes and I do hereby declare the following to be afull, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Intheannexeddrawings,Figurelrepresents a perspective view of a single length or piece of pipe made in accordance with my invention, the joining edges being separated. Fig. 2 is a similar view with the edges connected. Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view. Fig. 4 is a fragmentary sectional view of the joint on a larger scale; and Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the fastening device.
'My invention relates to stove pipes; and it consists in the construction of a separable joint for sections of pipe that enable them to be nested together for economical packing and convenient transportation and at the same time obtain a secure, fir m, durable and perfectly smoke-tight temporary connection between the parts of the joint.
In constructing my pipe one edge of the sheet metal is folded so as to form a groove A, shoulder O and the projecting edge B, and the other edge is bent to form atongue D and a shoulder E as shown. In connecting the tortion in handling.
