UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANDRES BERACIERTO, OF MATANZAS, CUBA.
TROUSERS-HANGER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 511,579, dated December 26,1893.
Application filed August 17,1893- Serial No. 433,349- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, AN RES BERAOIERTO, a subject of the King of Spain, and a resident of Matanzas, in the Island of Cuba, have invented a new and useful.Pautaloons-Hanger, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, and in which like letters indicate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of my im- Fig. 2 is a side elevation or edge view of the same; and Fig. 3 is a front elevation of a slightly modified form of the improved hanger.
The object of the invention is to provide a pantaloons hanger of a simple and compact construction, which will be capable of carrying several pairsof pantaloons on both sides of a suitable frame.
The invention consists in the particular construction of the hanger, as will be fully disclosed hereinafter, and specifically pointed out in the claim.
As illustrated in Fig. 1, the hanger consists of a frame A having sides or uprights A, a bottom cross-piece A and a triangular upper termination A At the top is secured a small plate B forming a socket for the hook B or an equivalent part by means of which the frame may be suspended. On the front and rear sides of the uprights A, are secured plates G having brackets 0 formed integral therewith. Said plates are fastened by means of screws or pins 0 and each of the plates on the left upright A is in horizontal alignment with one of the plates on the right upright. The plates fastened on opposite sides of the same upright are preferablylocated in horizontal alignment with each other, as shown, and in this case two screws and two nuts will suffice to secure two opposite plates to the upright, or the nuts may be dispensed with by threading the holes in the plates through which said screws 0 are passed. It will be understood that the connection of the plates 0 and brackets G with the uprights A will be such that the said plates and brackets can be easily removed. The brackets O are of the shape shown in Fig. 2, and are provided with recesses or apertures in which are journaled the pins or trunnions D secured to the ends of the wooden rollers or bars D.
It will be seen that the bars or rollers D project slightly in advance of the brackets C so as to allow the pantaloons to freely hang down in front of the brackets.
Each of the bars D is adapted to carry a pair of pantaloons, the latter being hung over the bars so as to depend about equally on both sides thereof in order that the two depending portions may counterbalance each other. The width of the frame will, of course, correspond to that of the pantaloons.
Fig. 3 shows a slight modification of the improved hanger, the upper portion A being arched instead of triangular.
I do not confine myself to the exact form of construction illustrated in the drawings, as the same may be altered without departing from the nature of myinvention, Instead of separate brackets for each roller, one bracket may be employed as a bearing for the ends of the several superposed bars.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A hanger for pantaloons, consisting of a frame provided with means whereby it may be suspended, said frame comprising two parallel straight uprights, brackets projecting on opposite sides of the uprights, each two brackets being arranged in horizontal alignment on opposite sides of the same upright, screws passing through the uprights and each two aligning brackets, and rotatable bars or rollers journaled in the brackets and arranged in two parallel series of vertically aligning rollers, substantially as described.
