, Be it known that I, NATHAN M. ABBOTT, a citizen of the United States, residing at'Belle Centre, in the county of Logan and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Reitlector, of which the following is a specifica- The invention relates to improvements in shades and reflectors.

To The object of the present invention is to provide for side-wall gas-fixtures a canopy shade and reflector adapted to be adjusted to throw the light as desired.

The invention consists in the construction I 5 and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claims hereto appended.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation of a reflector and canopy-shade constructed in accordance with this invention and shown applied to a gas-fixture. Fig. 2 is a detail perspective view of the lower end of the rod or standard. Fig. 3 is a similar view of the brace.

Referring to the accompanying drawings, 1 designates a rod or standard having its upper end curved and forming a goose-neck portion 2, from which is suspended a canopy-shade or smoke-bell 3, adapted to be arranged over a gas-jet to receive the smoke and prevent Walls and ceiling being blackened and inj ured by heat. The lower end of the rod or standard 1 is provided with a clip 4, which 3 5 is approximately U-shaped and consists of a pair of clamping-jaws provided with outwardly-bent ends to form a flaring mouth, and the clip is adapted to clamp the vertical joint 5 of sections of a side-wall fixture 6. The rod gage a section of the side-wall fixture. An L-shaped bracket 11 is arranged on the rod or standard and is adapted to be adjusted vertically to regulate a reflector 12, which is hinged to the vertical arm of the bracket 11, and is provided on its back with a socket 13 to receive the arm. The horizontal arm of the bracket is provided with an eye let to receive the standard or rod, and the bracket is secured in its adjustment by a set-screw 15. It will be seen that the combined reflector and canopy-shade are adapted to be readily secured to a gas-fixture and that the reflector is readily adjusted to suit the flame.

What I claim is 1. The combination of the rod or standard having a goose-neck, a canopy-shade suspended from the rod or standard, a reflector attached to the same, the curved brace adjustably secured to the rod or standard, and the clips arranged at the lower ends of the rod or standard and curved brace and having spring clamping-jaws adapted to engage a gas-fixture, substantially as described.
