IMPROVEMENT IN BOOTS AND SHOES.

Be it knoWn that I, T. K. REED, of North Bridgewnter, in the county of Piymouth and State of Massachusetts, have inventcd a new and Improved Construction of a Boot or Shoe; and I do hereby declare that the foliowing, tnkcn in connection With the drawings which accompany and form part of this specification, is a description of my invention sufficient t0 'c'nable chose skiiled in the art to praotice it.
My invention relates to that class of boots and shoes known as tnrns,,in which the vamp and sole are securcd togethcr in reversed position from thatwhioh they have whcn finished, or, in other words, the vamp andsoie are united whilc inside out and are znterward turn.d so as to be right side ont.

and in which the upper is then seoured to the sole by sewing the upper in a revc1sed or insideout condition to the we1t. T0 pcrform the latter opera-tion the sole is secured to the soie-face of a lastwith the welt oi1termost, and then the upper or Vamp reversed, or inside ont, is placed With its outcr or finished surface against the surface of the last, and the cdges of th6upper or wamp being drawn ovcr tl1e welt'and sole, a seain is formed either by baud or by mechanism in the welt and Vamp uniting them.
