To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ABRAHAM DIAMOND and OTTO KOHNERT, citizens of the United side elevation of a shoe with a section cut away at the rear end, showing where our devices are affixed. Fig. 2 represents the back end of shoe with the device affixed. Fig. 3 represents a plan view of a blank before the same is formed. Fig. 4 represents a crosssection of the same. Fig. 5 represents a blank, formed ready to be attached to the shoe. Fig. 6 represents a cross-section. Fig. 7 represents top view of an eyelet with a piece cutout of the tube, asshown in Fig. 8. Like letters represent like parts.
\Vhen duly formed ready for attachment, our device assumes the form of an ordinary hook, and we will socall it hereinafter.
The hook A is attached to the back of the shoe, preferably about two inches above the heel, by means of the eyelet B, or other suit able means, as shown in Figsl and 2. When it is desirous to avoid cutting the seam in the back of the shoe, we use the eyelet, formed like eyelet B, having part of the tube cut out, slipping the scam into the slot U". The hook is made, preferably, of spring metal, the end being bent inwardly to receive the pantaloons P and clasp them. \Yhen it is desired to use the hook, it simply necessary to slip the end of the pantaloons into the hook, and thus pre' vent the necessity of rolling up the bottom of trousers and creasing them. e do not limit ourselves to stamping the same out of sheet metal, for the same can be constructed of any inetal such as wire.
Havingdescribed our invention, what we claim new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In combination, with a boot or shoe, the pantaloons-supporter consisting of the hook A and eyelet B, the latter having its tube slotted to receive the back seam, substantially as shown and described.
Signed at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, this (3th day of January, A. D. 1888.
