1 Claim, 3 Drawing Figures GATE ROAD DINTIING EQUIPMENT BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to dinting equipment. Dinting is defined as excavating and removing a layer of floor to gain headroom (Paul W. Thrush, Dictionary of Mining, Mineral and Related Terms, U.S. Department of Interior, 1968).
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART According to the aforesaid Mining Dictionary, a heave is defined as: A rising of the floor of a mine.
Generally the floor heaving is caused by rock pressure. When heaving occurs at the face along a gate road, this causes the height of a skid loaded with a charge conveyer and other items to be subjected to fluctuations, thus resulting in an obstruction to the transportation of coal. The floor thus subjected to a heave was formerly scraped off by manpower; therefore, the usual practice taken at present is for the mining operation to be suspended for a while and the floor under the skid is scraped out every time when a heave of the floor takes shape.
The primary objective of the present invention is to provide gate road dinting equipment that is capable of removing floor heave caused by the ground pressure which has occurred preceding the face advance by the adjustment of a dinting machine in the height by the proper operation of a lifting jack, by putting a shifter in operation, and by revolving the cutting drum of a dinting machine, thus enabling the movement of various pieces of equipment, including coal mining equipment and coal transporting equipment, and consolidating the operation in the gate road and on the mining face in a rational and reasonable manner, so as to carry out rapid coal mining.
The second object of the present invention lies in providing such a gate road dinting equipment that makes possible the movement of a face conveyer by setting in place on the charge conveyer the returning section of a belt and a rope frame take-up motion, and the charge conveyer in a continuous manner.
The objects set forth above can be attained by the improvement, combination and operation of the respective sections constituting the present invention, of which an illustration is shown in the drawings attached hereto and the detailed description hereinafter set forth.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Shown in the drawings is an illustration of the present invention;
FIG. I is an elevation of the illustration,
FIG. 2 is a plan corresponding to FIG. I, and
FIG. 3 is an elevation of the belt stretcher employed in the illustration.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION the tail end thereof, thus facilitating discharge onto the belt. The charge conveyer I has a belt returning section It) arranged on the skid thereof for the use of an extension belt conveyer 9, a rope frame I1 is arranged on each side of the belts in such a manner as to bend these belts, and a rope take-up device 12 is arranged on each side of the charge conveyer I for taking up a wire rope ll.
7 is a dinting machine of the ranging type to be driven either electrically or hydraulically; this dinting machine has a ranging mechanism capable of cutting up to 1.2 meters in height above the dinting depth and 3.5 meters in width of the entry, is positioned below the charge conveyer, and connected with the skid 2 by means of a shifter 8. It is capable of cutting to the depth of approximately 1 meter of the floor ahead from on the charge conveyer I, so as to facilitate the movement of the charge conveyer I.
Furthermore, the dinting machine 7 has a conveyer 33 arranged on the side thereof and transports to the charge conveyer I the waste material created by the cutting bits set in place on the cutting drum of the dinting machine which is of the screw type. 13 is a selfadvancing support of which the lower section has such a shifter 14 thereon as is connected with the face conveyer driving equipment 3 for automatically advancing the conveyer by means of a jack by as much cutting as is done by a hover, i.e., by the dinting machine 7. I5 is a gate self-advancing support, and connected with the said self-advancing support by means of a slicing mechanism.
16 is a coal planer, which is an apparatus for discharging onto the conveyer the coal left after cutting by the drum shearer. The coal breaker 4, has powerful teeth 17 of an angled roll arranged on the periphery thereof, and revolves at high velocity, thus crushing large lumps of coal and so forth produced by the face equipment. 18 is a limber roller, 19 is a belt conveyer, 20 is a suspension for suspending a wire rope, 21 is an anchor for holding the end of the wire rope 40 through a wire pulley 39, 22 is a gate road, 23 is a ranging cutting drum of the dinting machine, and 24 is a face con veyer (hereinafter to be termed as a face PC.) and is moved into a space exposed by cutting the face (700mm in stroke) by virtue of the shifter 14 built in the self-advancing support 13.
Now that the face PC. is combined with the skid 2 of the charge conveyer I into one unit, the whole of the charge conveyer is moved together with the move of the face conveyer. The engine driving section 25 of the extension belt conveyer, is driven by an electric motor, and furnished with a take-up wheel 31 of the multiple stage pulley system which has a long belt in storage arranged on the side of a return belt. The take-up wheel 31 is is slides on rails 37.
26 is a top pulley set in place at the top of the belt conveyer l9, and, 27 and 28 are a front drum and a rear drum, respectively, set in place on the engine driving section 25 of the extension belt conveyer.
30 is a belt stretcher of the wire winch type fixed on the stationary position by an anchor post 29, and is pulled by a wire rope 41 in such a manner as to given constant tension to the take-up wheel 31.
32 supports the roof ahead in such a manner as to be sufficient for moving the self-advancing support, while supporting the roof in an alternating manner by this beam member 32 of the gate self-advancing support.
34 is a frame, and a roller 35 is arranged at several positions along the frame for the purpose of guiding the upper belt.
36 is a take-up pulley set in place on the take-up wheel 31, 37 is a guide rail, 21 is an anchor post, and 42 is a gutter-shaped plate set in place at the top of the driving section 43 of the charge conveyer 1 and guides coal or the like transported by the charge conveyer 1 over to the belt conveyer 19.
The invention operates as follows:
The floor of a gate road causes the skid with discharge conveyer 1 and so forth mounted thereon to be pushed up by lateral rock pressure thus causing a change in the overall height of the charge conveyer 1. As a result movement of coal is obstructed. The dinting machine 7 of the ranging type capable of cutting to the depth of 1 meter is set in place adjacent to the top front section of the discharge conveyer 1, a heave can be properly removed by adjusting the height of the said dinting machine 7 through the operation of the lifting jack 5 and by concurrently revolving the ranging cutting drum 23. Furthermore, the combination of the face RC. and the discharge conveyer 1 is maintained at proper and constant height by advancing the dinting machine 7 through the operation of the shifter 8, thus preventing the face P.C. driving section from shearing upward. Therefore, the transporting capacity at the face can be charged as it is to the gate, and coal transporting efficiency is thus improved.
Furthermore, the face conveyer 24 is moved to the space exposed by cutting the face (700mm in stroke) at the time of the moveof the face PC. by the shifter 14 built in the self-advancing support 13.
Now that the face conveyer 24 and the charge conveyer skid 2 are combined into one entity, the discharge conveyer as a whole is moved together with the move of the 700mm face PC.
The discharge conveyer 1 has the belt return section for the belt conveyer set thereon; therefore, the loosened belt 19 automatically pulls the take-up wheel motion by virtue of the conveyer stretcher 30 by as much the distance as has thus moved in such a manner as shown in FlG. 3, so as removed is sagging of the belt loosened as a whole.
In addition thereto, a rope take-up 12 set in place on the charge conveyer 1 causes a wire rope 11 to be given constant torque by a pneumatic pressure mechanism or a hydraulic pressure mechanism to take-up the wire rope 11 instantaneously by as much as the distance as has been loosened bythe movement of the charge conveyer 1, thus ensuring a smooth run of the conveyer belt set on the wire rope.
As the movement of the charge conveyer l advances, the limber rollers 18 (rollers made of rubber in such a manner as to be set on or off at various places at liberty) 18 and the suspensions 20 are set off position one following another.
Furthermore, the conventional dinting machines are of the anchor post type and involve some defects in the drive thereof in case the roof is soft and fragile; meanwhile, the equipment introduced in the present invention has the advantage that it is capable of conducting a driver in a powerful manner as the base of a charge conveyer, and furthermore has such features that the charge conveyer 1 can to move in a continuous manner concurrently with the move of the face PC. by setting the belt return section 10 and the rope take-up motion 12 thereon, that a surplus of a belt at the belt return section 10 is instantaneously taken up by an extension apparatus, and that a surplus rope on the rope frame 11 is taken up into the rope take-up motion 12 set in place on the charge conveyer 1.
