DEVICE FOR GENERATING BUBBLES IN RESPONSE TO MOVEMENT OF A VEHICLE SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a novel device for blowing bubbles in response to operation of a vehicle such as a bicycle, tricycle, or other similar type vehicle operated by the person riding it. The device includes a bottle for containing a bubble solution which is mounted to the vehicle. Two tubes extend through the top of the bottle: a first tube, which is relatively short with its lower end spaced above the level of the solution in the bottle, and its upper end a short distance above the top of the bottle; and a second tube with its lower end substantially to the bottom of the bottle so as to allow air forced through the second tube to enter the solution.
Means are provided at the other end of the second tube for forcing air through the tube into the solution as the vehicle is operated, thereby producing bubbles at the outer end of the first tube.
The bubbler device of this invention has very few parts, is inexpensive to make, and is easy to install.

- FIG. 5 is a view showing the bubbler device mounted to a bicycle.
EMBODIMENT Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a bubbler device of this invention including a bottle 11 having a removable threaded cap 12. A short tube 13 extends through a hole 14 in the cap 12 with its lower end 16 spaced above the top of a bubble solution (not shown) contained in the bottle. The bubble solution is of any suitable type commonly known in the art. The tube 13 has an upper chamfered end 18 with apertures 20 and 21 in the sides of the tube and an aperture 22 in the back of the tube near the top end 18.
An air hose 25 extends through another hole 26 in the cap 12 with its end 28 extending inside and substantially to the bottom of the bottle 11. The end 28.has a notch 30 to allow air forced through the hose 25 to escape into the bubble solution contained in the bottle.
A resilient bulb 32 having an inlet 33 and an outlet 34 is mounted with its outlet 34 connected to the outer end of the hose 25. The bulb 32 is of a type that when squeezed, the inlet 33 is closed and the outlet 34 is opened to force air through the hose 25 and into the bubble solution, and when released the outlet 34 is closed and the inlet 33 is opened to suck air into the bulb.
Referring to FIG. 5, it is shown how the bubbler device 10 is mounted to a bicycle 36 having frame members 38, 39, and 40, and pedal arm 41. The bottle 11 is mounted to the frame member 38 of the bicycle 36 by any suitable means such as a strap 44. The air hose 25 is supported to the frame members of the bicycle generally as shown by means of clamps 46, tape, or the like. The resilient bulb 32 is securely supported such as by straps 48 to the frame members 39 and 40 in the path of the pedal arm 41 such that each time the pedal arm rotates through a complete revolution it rubs againstand compresses the bulb 32. This forces air through the hose 25 and into the bubble solution, causing bubbles to form at the top 18 of the tube 13. As the bicycle 36 moves in a forward direction, air is forced through the apertures 20 through 22 breaking the bubbles loose from the top of the tube 13 as they form, and producing a continuous stream of bubbles.
Various changes and modifications may be made in this invention, as will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art. Such changes and modifications are within the scope and teaching of this invention as defined by the claims appended hereto.
What is claimed is:
l. A combination vehicle and bubbler device mounted to the vehicle for producing a continuous stream of bubbles in response to movement of the vehicle, the combination comprising a vehicle, first actuator means operatively connected to the vehicle, means for moving the vehicle in response to operation of the first actuator means, a bottle for containing a bubble solution, a hose extending within the bottle with one end extending into the solution, means providing an outlet from the bottle for producing bubbles therefrom when air is forced through the hose into the solution, a second actuator means connected to the other end of the hose for forcing air through the hose into the solution, means for mounting the bottle to the vehicle, and means for mounting the second actuator means for operation in response to operation of the first actuator means, whereby the first actuator means not only moves the vehicle, but operates the second actuator means as well to produce a continuous stream of bubbles.

The combination of claim 1 wherein the second actuator means includes a resilient bulb means, the bulb means having an inlet and an outlet and being such that when the bulb means is compressed, air is forced through the outlet and when it is released air is sucked in through the inlet, means for connecting the other end of the hose being connected to the outlet of the bulb means, and means for periodically compressing the bulb means in response to movement of the vehicle operation of the first actuator means.
3. The combination of claim 2 wherein the vehicle has pedals and pedal arms and is operated by movement of the pedals, and the bulb means is mounted adjacent one of the pedal arms such that movement of the pedal arm compresses the bulb means and forces air through the hose and into the solution.
4. The combination of claim 1 wherein the means providing an outlet includes a tube that is chamfered and includes apertures just beneath the chamfered end, whereby movement of the vehicle forces air through the apertures to release the bubbles as they form at the chamfered end.
5. The combination of claim 1 wherein the means providing an outlet further comprises a tube extending through the top of the bottle with its lower end spaced above the top of the solution, the bubbles produced at the top of the tube. 1 k I t
Claims (5)
1. A combination vehicle and bubbler device mounted to the vehicle for producing a continuous stream of bubbles in response to movement of the vehicle, the combination comprising a vehicle, first actuator means operatively connected to the vehicle, means for moving the vehicle in response to operation of the first actuator means, a bottle for containing a bubble solution, a hose extending within the bottle with one end extending into the solution, means providing an outlet from the bottle for producing bubbles therefrom when air is forced through the hose into the solution, a second actuator means connected to the other end of the hose for forcing air through the hose into the solution, means for mounting the bottle to the vehicle, and means for mounting the second actuator means for operation in response to operation of the first actuator means, whereby the first actuator means not only moves the vehicle, but operates the second actuator means as well to produce a continuous stream of bubbles.

The combination of claim 1 wherein the second actuator means includes a resilient bulb means, the bulb means having an inlet and an outlet and being such that when the bulb means is compressed, air is forced through the outlet and when it is released air is sucked in through the inlet, means for connecting the other end of the hose being connected to the outlet of the bulb means, and means for periodically compressing the bulb means in response to movement of the vehicle operation of the first actuator means.
3. The combination of claim 2 wherein the vehicle has pedals and pedal arms and is operated by movement of the pedals, and the bulb means is mounted adjacent one of the pedal arms such that movement of the pedal arm compresses the bulb means and forces air through the hose and into the solution.
4. The combination of claim 1 wherein the means providing an outlet includes a tube that is chamfered and includes apertures just beneath the chamfered end, whereby movement of the vehicle forces air through the apertures to release the bubbles as they form at the chamfered end.
5. The combination of claim 1 wherein the means providing an outlet further comprises a tube extending through the top of the bottle with its lower end spaced above the top of the solution, the bubbles produced at the top of the tube.
