Description
United States Patent Astrid Andreas c/o Parmask, 156-08 Riverside Drive W., Apt. 4H, New York, New York 10032 211 Appl. No. 755,160
[22] Filed Aug. 26, 1968 [45] Patented Nov. 17, i970 72] Inventor [54] INSTANT ELASTIC FACELIFT DEVICE Primary Examiner-L. W. Trapp Att0rneyCarl Miller ABSTRACT: A face lifting device for removing temporarily and more or less permanently the sagging muscles and/or skin of the face consisting of an elastic band having an adjustable buckle and clasp, one at each end of the band, for securing the ends of the band together. The band is located to engage the sides of the face above and adjacent to the ears and extends across the head under the hair and around the back of the neck. Preferably, the buckle and clasp are joined at the top of the head. The surface of-the band adjacent the skin of the face is covered with an adhesive similar to that employed in adhesive bandages, such an adhesive being noninjurious to the skin. in attaching the band to the head an upward tension is applied to the skin by the band on each side of the face by means of an elastic cord extending from the band at the nape of the neck up under the hair of the head to the buckle and clasp connection, this obviating the need for having the band tightly attached to the head. The band may either be worn exposed in the privacy of the wearer or in public by being made decorative and if desired, appropriately covered by a suitable hairdo, wig, hairpiece or hat.
. 1 INSTANT ELASTIC FACELIFTDEVICE head, the sides of the face immediately forwardly of the ears and the back of the neck to thus provide-a combined muscle lifter and muscle supporter. Another object of this invention is to provide an adjustable buckle and clasp, one at each end ofthe band for connecting At the centerof the band l there is secured thereto a ble eye o'rloop which projects from the outer face of the b and, and in the placement of the'band onthe headis located at the-nape of the neck. An elastic cord 22 has-one end fastened as at 2 3 to the buckle 12 and is providedat its'other end witha book 24, preferably one of the type having a spring catch so as to obviate disengagement thereof. -With theband l0 applied to the head, whichneed not be tight,'-the elastic cord 22 is threaded through the hair and the hook 24 connected to the band eye or loop 20, as seen in FIG. 4. The length of elastic cord 22 is such as to-apply an'upward pull or lifting action on the face engaging sides of theband 10. As
these sides of the band are adhesively engaged with the the ends of the band together in its operative position on the Y head.
Still another object of this invention is to provide for use.
with the band an elastic cortl'that extends medially at the back of the head from a point of connection on the band at the nape of the neck to the buckle and clasp connection of the band at the top ofthe head.
Yet another object of this invention is to utilize an adhesive on the face'side of the band that is similar to that employed in adhesive bandages which is in no way injurious to the skin.
Anotherobjeet of this invention is to form the exposed face of the band fanciful or decorative such as to be visibly worn by -the wearer with parts of the band hidden by an appropriate hairdo, wig or hat.
sagging skin in the zones of the face adjacent'to the ear the band .10 will raise'the saggingmuscles and support the same in their raised position.
The band 10 may be worn as long as desired and has the advantage of producing no health hazard or riskto the wearer. The wearing of the band sets no limit on the "duration of the sagging muscle raising effect and with constant use and appli cation will strengthen the facial muscles, reduce or obviate the saggingthe'reof, and produce an improved and youthful facial appearance inthe wearer.
The band 10 may be worn applied to the face and head in the privacy of the wearer while at home. at night and even while asleep.
The band l 0 may also be worn visiblyin public applied to the face and h'eadas shown in FIG. 5. In this case the outer Still another object of the invention isthe provision ofa face lift .device of the type indicated that is safe to use, effective and which does not require the services ofa skilled operator to apply the same in order that it may function efficiently.
Further objects of the invention will appear as the description proceeds.
To the accomplishment of the above and related objects,-
my invention maybe embodied in' the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings. attention being called to the fact,
however, that the drawings are illustrative only, and that change may be made in the specific construction illustrated and described within the scopeof the appended-claims.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the face liftelastic 'band. 'FIG. 2 is a sectional view thereof taken on line 2-2 of FIG. 1.
H6. 3 is a side view of a womans head with the elastic band applied thereto.
FIG. 4 is a rear view of the head showing the application of thetensioning cord to the elastic band.
face -26 of the band 100 may be made decorative particularly as to the part thereof that will be visible with the other parts of the band (decorative or plain) concealed by an appropriate hairdo, wig or hat. I
Depending on the location of the adherence of the band to the skin of the-cheek, the band will effect either a-modest or a stunning-lift of. the contourthereof, and also considerably smoothes out the skin of the throat.
While certain novel features of my invention have been 'shown and described and are pointed out in the, annexed claims, it will be understood that various omissions, substitutions and changes 'in'the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the FIG. 5 shows a decorative form of face lift elastic band as worn in public.
Referring in greater detail to the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a band or ribbon. 10 of any desired length, width and thickness m'ade of a combination of rubber threads interwoven with cotton or linen threads such as to have stretch characteristics. At one end, the band 10 is adjustably secured to a buckle l2 and at its other end to a clasp 14, the connection thereto being also adjustable. Provided on the inside face of the band it) isan adhesive coating 16, the adhesive being similar to that employed in adhesive bandages so as to be noninjurious to the skin. The
The band 10 is of a length such as to have its center portion positioned at the back or nape of the neck with itssides extending upwardly along the sides of the face immediately forwardly ofthe ears. as seen in FIG. 3, and up over the top of the head with the opposite ends of the band connected by the buckle l2 and clasp 14. Prior to placement of the band 10 on the head some of the hair is'mo 'ed-"forwardlyas at 18 to be later moved back when the band is attached to thehead to conceal at least the upper head encircling part thereof. The neck encircling part of the hand 10 is concealed by the hair draped over the back of the neck.
art without departing from the spirit of the invention.
