E65d 37/00 U.S. Ci. 2221i 5 1 Claim ABSTRACT BE THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to improvements in devices for dispensing powders such as insecticides, itch and flea powders and the like.
An object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved powder dispensing glove, for appling remedial insecticides and powders to the fur and body of an animal by patting and rubbing it thereon.
Another object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved glove device into one compartment of which the hand and fingers are insertable, and into the second compartment of which a powder is disposed, the second compartment having dispensing holes for dispensing the powder upon the animal.
A further object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved dispensing glove device which is so constructed that the hand of the user does not come into direct contact with the insecticide or other powder being applied to the animal, thus avoiding possible allergic reaction from the powder.
Still another object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved dispensing glove device which is simple in design, formed of few parts of sheet material, and can be made at low cost by mass production.
These and other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment thereof, as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

FIGURE 4 is a sectional elevation taken on plane 4-4 of FIGURE 3.
In connection with the handling of animals, it is often necessary to apply to their fur and body, a powder such as for fleas, itch mites, ticks and the like, in the form of a finely divided insecticide. To spray it from a can is not only wasteful and costly but also has the disadvantage of lack of uniform distribution. The present invention looks like a glove and the hand is inserted in one compartment, while the other compartment contains the powder and has a large number of holes from which the powder is dispensed by patting and rubbing. The animal is also soothed and not alarmed.
In order to understand clearly the nature of the invention and the best means for carrying it out reference may nite States Patent 0 be had to the drawings, in which like numerals denote similar parts throughout the several views.
As shown, there is a glove device generally indicated at 10 in FIGURE 1, with the back panel 12, finger receiving portions 14, 16, 18, 26 and 22 and wrist portion 24. An intermediate glove panel 26 is shown in FIGURE 2, and this panel has a corresponding set of finger portions 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36 to be stitched to their related finger portions of the back panel of FIGURE 1, as well as the palm portion 38 and wrist portion 40. The stitching is omitted for clarity only, and may be of any type used for making gloves.
As seen in FIGURE 3, there is also a third panel 42 which corresponds to the intermediate panel 26 of FIG- URE 2 and underlies it, being formed with matching palm and wrist portions 44 and 46. It also has the finger portions 48, Sil, 52, 54 and 56, which are all stitched at their edges to the related portions of FIGURE 2. There is thus formed between the panels of FIGURES 2 and 3, a hollow interspace chamber 58 or pouch to receive the powder 6% to be dispensed.
A large number of dispensing holes 62 are formed through the panel 42 as seen best in FIGURES 3 and 4, and the user inserts a hand in the hand receiving chamber 64. The glove device is then merely patted or rubbed over the fur and other body portions of the animal to rid it of mites, ticks, or fleas. The powder can also be medicated and includes a deodorant. The powder is not wasted and there is no dust to get into the eyes of the animal or user.
The glove can be made of any sheet material such as plastic, clear plastic, leather or the like and at low cost. The powder does not come in contact with the skin of the hand.
I claim:
1. A dispensing device for powder and the like comprising a first and second panel member each formed of flexible sheet material and each having a fiat configuration shaped generally in the form of a band and having a palm shaped portion and five finger shaped portions and means securing said first and second panels to one another at the marginal edges thereof to thereby define a hand receiving chamber, a third panel member also formed of flexible material and having a flat configuration shaped generally in the form of a hand, said securing means securing said third panel to said second panel at the marginal edges thereof thereby to form a powder receiving chamber between said second and third panels, said third panel having a plurality of small aperture nozzles for discharging powder under control of rubbing action, gravity force, and hand pressure tending to compress said powder in said powder chamber to dispense the powder through said aperture nozzles, said powder receiving chamber including a palm shaped portion and five finger shaped portions formed between corresponding palm and finger shaped portions of said second and third panels to allow controlled powder dispensing through said palm and finger shaped portions.
