COMBINED COUNTER AND SHOW-CASE.

Be it known that I, SAMUEL B. DOOLEY, of Beatrice, county of Gage, State of Nebraska, have invented a certain new and useful Oombined Counter and Show-Case, of which the following is a specification.

The following description will give a clear and exact idea of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.

My invention consists in a new combined counter and show-case for the purpose of fully displaying the different varieties of crackers, fruits, and similar articles that are displayed for sale, and at the same time keeping them protected from dust, handling, and theft.

K- is a frame-work open at the rear and bottom, which may be inserted in the front of a common counter, if desired, or used separately, it being so constructed that the boxes are at a convenient height from the floor.

The box A, not being'fastened, may be re moved when empty and replaced by a full one. Said box A is placed on a movable frame, D, which is hinged to the top of the swinging pieces B, and the said box may be lowered and drawn out or raised and pushed forward by means of the swinging pieces B and frame D. The pieces B are hinged to the stationary frame 0 at their lower ends and to the movable frame D at their upper ends, the movable frame D being free to move back and forth on the stationary frame C. When the box A is moved forward, as above described, it sets at an angle, the front or outerend being lower than the rear or inner end. This arrangement enables the customer to better observe the goods, and when the said box is let down it enables the merchant to easily and quickly serve the customers. On the upper face of the movable frame D'is a shoulder, at.

11 represents the front open frame-work of the case, through which may be seen the labels on the ends of the box A.

(1 represents the right-angled piece on the front lower corner of the box A, the lower side of which fits into the shoulder din the movable frame D. The right-angled piece d is secured to the box A, and its .lower arm rests against the shoulder d of the frame D,

' and when the box A is pulled back this arrangement prevents the said box from sliding on the frame D, but brings the said frame 'back with it, as seen in Fig. 2.
