This application is a continuation of patent application, Serial No. 239,833, filed November 23, 1962, which is a division of patent application, Serial No. 757,793, filed August 28, 1958, both applications now being abandoned.
Previously, there has been no wall closet fitting which is completely satisfactory in all respects for residential installations.
The present disclosure shows a support for wall type water closets and the like which will fit into a 2 X 6 stud partition and which combines the functions of a support for the closet and a waste fitting. The fitting incorporates an offset branch which incorporates a sanitary sweep and provides a lateral adjustment at the closet connection to accommodate and compensate for variation in wall finish thickness. A further feature is the provision of a vertical adjustment to accommodate various closet roughing heights and various thicknesses of fioor finish.
In carrying out the invention, in one form thereof the fitting is supported by means of a lower bar in front of the vstuds of the partition and an upper lbar in, back of the studs whereby the full vertical component of load of the closet and fitting is transmitted to the studs and the turning moment is transmitted -to the back of the studs while the reaction of the turning moment is transmitted to the fioor or lateral structural member of the building. This provides a means to adequately support a water closet rigidly and firmly, even with thin flooring which would not support the vertical load of a closet.
In this form, the load is transmitted to the studs in such a way that the aforementioned bars are forced toward the studs by the load and no screws are required to fasten the support bars to the studs although screws could be used. The lower bars engage the studs near but above the sole plate of the building so that the support bars are easily accessible during construction of the building. Stud plates are provided to prevent compression and wear of the notches in the wood studs and to ensure that the bars bear on the studs at all times. A base plate is attached to the floor or structural member of the building in some embodiments of the invention to facilitate levelling, to distribute the reaction moment, and to locate the face plate during assembly. The stud plates tie the 2 X 6 sole plate of the building and the studs together to ensure rigid framing which is not usually true in frame construction of a building at this point. The framing members may tend to separate due to a settling of the building and a shrinking of the wooden members.
The fitting disclosed herein is rigidly mounted to the support so that the fitting and support become an integral part of the piping system. The fitting is separable from the support s that any size of fitting can be interchanged and this can be combined with any style of stack, whether a thin metal stack, a cast iron stack, or any other kind. The elbow is separable from the fitting and the fitting is 3,252,168v Patented May 24, 1966 ICC separable from the support so that they can be used for right or left hand assembly or for dual assembly, if required. Therefore, vthe elbow can be used for a right or left hand installation'or a T or twin elbow can be substituted for the elbow. The vent is incorporated in the fitting itself so that the vent branch is actually a part of the fitting and can be so used in either a right hand or a left hand installation. The vent is so designed that it can be used as a waste connection in a wet vent. In another form of the invention, the assembly is so designed that the same face plate, elbow, coupling, fitting and -trim can be used for concrete floor type constructions by substituting yoke supports for bars and stud plates for either single or back to back arrangement. Thus, by providing four packages and twelve fittings, a total of seventy-two combinations for different types of construction is made possible. This would require six packages and thirty-six fittings of the conventional type to accomplish the same versatility. Therefore, the present design makes it possible for the manufacturer and/or retailer to reduce the size of his inventory and still be able to accommodate all possible combinations on request. Also,
the mechanic in the field can locate the stack or waste line 'support holds the water closet out from the wall finish.
The yoke arrangement shown in one embodiment herein gives support while allowing clearance for both branch and vent as compared to the usual installation. The uprights of the face plates are behind the wall so as to allow passage of the branch line and they do not contact the wall finish when the fitting is flexed. .The assembly, being made of several parts, allows symmetrical pieces and thus provides for easy molding during manufacture and, particularly, for wide spread of the fitting to accommodate a built-in tank in the wall. The coupling is located by three adjusting screws and an O-ring seal may be used instead of the conventional packing and lock nut, thus permitting a substantial adjustment without danger of leakage. Set screws are supported in spaced ears on the elbow and can be adjusted in or out to positively locate the coupling.
In another form of the invention, a fitting made up of ay vertical cylindrical body in which an' integral forwardly extending branch connects directly through a coupling to the Water closet is provided. Support bars connected to the cylindrical body are used to attach the body to the frame of a building in such a way that both the Vertical turning moment and turning reaction are transferred to the studs of the building and the closet is supported on the studs independent of the floor.
As an added feature, jacking members are provided in one for-m of the invention to transfer the vertical load to the floor of the building.
More specifically, it is an object of the invention to provide a fitting for supporting wall closets which is simple in construction, economical in manufacture, and simple and eicient in operation.

A further object of this invention is to provide a vertical adjustment in a wall closet support fitting to accommodate various closet working heights and various thicknesses of floor finish.
A still further object of the invention is to provide an improved tting for supporting a wall type water closet wherein the support utilizes a lower bar in front of the studs and an upper bar in back of the studs Vto react against the turning moment of the closet.
Still a further object of the invention is to provide an improved fitting for supporting a wall type water Vcloset wherein the full vertical component of load is transmittedy to the studs at the lower portion of the studs in the wall and the turning moment is transmitted to the back of the studs.
Yet a further object of the invention is to provide a fitting wherein the reaction to the turning moment is transmitted to the iioor or lateral structural member and wherein means is provided to adequately support a water closet even with thin flooring which would not support the vertical load normally.
Still yet a further object of the invention is to provide an improved fitting wherein the support bars are supported on plates on the studs and not on the fasteners whereby wear and compression stress are not accepted by the wood itself.
It is yet another object of 4this invention to provide an improved fitting for supporting a wall typewater closet wherein a face plate is adjustably mounted on the fioor inside the wall.
tIt is still yet another object of the invention to provide `stud plates to tie a standard 2 X 6 sole plate and 2 x 6 studs on a fra-me wall together to ensure rigidity of framing wherein a Wall type Water closet fitting is supported in the frame and securedthereto, thereby preventing separation of the frame members at this point.
Still yet another object of the invention is to provide a fitting for supporting a wall type water closet wherein the fitting may be rigidly mounted in a building to support the fixture so that the fixture becomes an integral part of the piping system.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a ttin-g which is separable from the support members so that the fitting can be -used with any type or style of stack interchangeably.
Still yet a further object of this invention is to provide an improved fitting for supporting a water closet wherein an elbow is provided separable from the fitting and a vent is incorporated in the fitting so as to vent a branch and still allow the same fitting to .be used, whether right or left or back to back installation style. e
Yet another object of the linvention is to provide an elbow separable from the fitting and a fitting separable from the support so that it can be used for right or left hand assembly with the same parts.
Another object of the invention is to provide an irnproved fitting utilizing a face plate, elbow, coupling, and tlitting adapted for use on concrete oor type constructions.
It is still another object of this invention to provide a fitting to .be connected to a horizontal branch pipe adapted to be installed over a cement slab comprising the iioor of a 4building after thepouring of the slab. The structure which accomplishes this purpose also has utility in remodeling Work where waste stacks are not directly adjacent to the closet location. y
With the above and other objects in view, the present invention consists of the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and more particularly pointed out in the appended claims, it being `understood that lFIG. 5 is a side view of the embodiment shown in F-IG. 4; Y

Now with more particular reference to the drawings,
FIGS. l, 2, vand 3 show a fitting 16 supported between studs 11 and 12 of a frame building having a sole plate 14. The sole plate 14 is made of the usual 2 x 6 wood with a piece cut out at 15 and 16. The sole plate 14 is supported above a building subii-oor 17 and the floor 17 is, in turn, supported on joists in the usual manner.
A hole 19 is bored in the floor 17 through which the fitting body 10 extends and the fittting 10 is designed to be attached at 20 to the flared portion of a soil pipe or the like. The upper end of the fittting 10 has a fiared portion 21 which, in practice, receives the lower end of a soil pipe. Suitable caulking will be provided between the pipe joints.
The Wall of the building-has a front finish portion 24 and a rear finished portion 25 spaced from each other and supported on a finished floor 26. The finished portions 24 and 25-may be conventional plaster on lath construction. The studs 11 and 12 are shown as conventional 2 x 6 frame members and may be separated by a suitable spacing.l
A lateral branch 32 is integrally attached to a hollow cylindrical body 29 of the fitting 10 and communicates with the inside thereof and terminates at its lateral end in a portion 33 which receives an end of a sanitary closet L 34. An opening 37 is provided in a boss 38 which receives an upwardly and laterally extending vent pipe 39 which is sealed therein.
The studs 11 and 12 are notched at 41, 42, 43 and 44, respectively, to receive ends 45 and 46 of an upper support bar 49 and ends 48 and 47 of the long lower support bar 50 and a short lower support bar 51, respectively. The notches 41, 42, 43, and 44 provide a space between the finished portions 24 and 25 of the wall and the studs 11 and 12 to receive the ends of the upper and lower support bars 49, 50 and 51.
Notched support plates 52, 53, 54 and 55 are attached to the s-tuds 11 and 12 on the side adjacent to the fitting 10 by means of pallet nails 57 or other suitable fastening means. The plates 52, 53, 54 and 55 are notched out to receive the ends of the support bars 49, 50, and 51 and provide a positive supporting surface therefor. It
is desirable to provide this posi-tive supporting surface because it is difficult for a plumber, carpenter, or other mechanic to cut the notches out of the studs 11 and 12 in such an accurate manner Aas to support the upper and lower support bars 49, 50, and 51 in the desired manner.
The upper support bar 49 is supported in the rear sides of the studs 11 and 12 and is connected to a face plate by means of elongated upper support bolts 60 which are disposed in a hole 61 in the upper support bar 49 and into a hole 62 in the face plate. The face plate is of a type familiar to those skilled in the art, commonly used to support water closets on carriers. Therefore, the upper support bolts 60 hold the fitting 10 rigidly to the support bar 49 against swinging forward due to the turning moment due to the weight of the water closet.
The lower support bars 50 and 51 are disposed in the notches 44 and 43 on the front side of the studdings 11 and 12. The bars 50 and 51 are attached to the face plate by means of lower .support lbolts 64 which engage holes 65 in the bars 50 and 51. The bolts 64 engage holes 66 in the face plate and have nu-ts 70 thereon. The bar 51 is secured t-o a leg 75 by screw 67.
A right hand screw 67 extends through a hole in the bar 50, a hole in theface .plate on the -right hand side, and into a bore in a boss 73. Mid-support bolt 73" extends through a hole in the face member and into a threaded hole in a boss 73. A hole 73a is provided in the leg 75 for use when the fitting 10 is used as a left hand installation.
The face plate has the spaced integral legs 75 and 76. The legs 75 and 76 may be referred to as a face member. They vare integrally attached to a rearwardly extending plate or flange 77 attached thereto and extending rearwardly therefrom. A base plate 78 is supported on the sub-floor 17. The flange 77 has vertical adjusting screws 79 threadably engaging holes 80 therein and extending downwardly through the space between a surface 81 and the upper surface of the plate 78 and engage notches 82 in the plate 78. It will be noted that the vertical adjusting screws 79 may berotated to adjust the position of the flange 77 upwardly and downwardly relative to the plate 78 to take care of Variations in dimension of parts of the building and thicknesses of the floor and the like.
Bolts 83' extend through holes 83" in the flange 77 and through 77 in the sub-floor 17 and, also, through holes in the plate 78. The bolts 83 have heads 83 resting on the top surface of the flange 77. The bolts 83 have nuts 77 which may be tightened to clamp the flange 77 to the floor 17 at a spaced distance therefrom.
The legs 75 and 76 of the face plate have upper threaded holes 84 and lower threaded holes 85 therein. The threaded holes 84 and 85 receive mounting bolts 87- and 88 which have nuts 89 and 90.thereon and nuts 91 and 92 for supporting the mounting flanges of a water closet thereon. The water closet will bemounted on the bolts 87 and 88.
The sanitary closet L 34 may be rotated one hunred eighty degrees in the flange 33 in which it is received in a conventional manner and the fitting may be similarly rotated so that the assembly can be used to support either a left hand' or a right hand closet and mounted on the leg 75 by means of the hole 73a. The fitting 10 is thus inter-changeable for use in a large num- -ber of applications and thus reduces the size of inventories necessary for a plurality of installations.
The entire fitting 10 may be adjusted upwardly and downwardly by means of the Vertical adjusting screws 79 in order to take care of variations between the spacing of the floor and the closet outlet position. Spaced ears -36' on the L 34 receive set screws 36 which may be adjusted in or `out to support a coupling 36 at the desired position relative to the inside Wall surface.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, a fitting and support of the nature of that shown in FIGS 1, 2 and 3 are shown; however, the embodiment in FIGS. 4 and 5 is suitable for support on a cement slab floor construction for use where a partition will not readily accept support bars such as used in the first embodiment. In this case, the full load of the fitting and closet is taken on the floor slalb itself.
The support is made up of a horizontal flange 177 which is clamped to the sub-floor by means of anchor bolts 196 which extend through holes 197 in the horizontal flange 177 which are fastened to the sub-floor by means of anchors 182 disposed in holes 199. The anchor bolts V196 pull down the flange 177 firmly against vertical levelling screws 180 which bear on the cement subfloor and, therefore, hold the horizontal flange 177 rigidly to the sub-floor in 4spaced relation thereto. Bolts 160 attach a forward end 149 of yokes 150 to arms 175 and 176.
The yokes 150 terminate at the lower end at the flange 177 and are fixed thereto by studs 178. The arm 175 is attached to the fitting by an upper bolt 167 and a lower bolt 167'. A vent 139 communicates with a stack fitting 110. The fitting and the support are adapted to be enclosed between two finished wall surfaces. A closet may be attached to the support by bolts 187 and 188 having nuts 191 and 192 thereon.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, a fitting is shown for use in a wall wherein a water -closet is to be mounted on each side thereof as, for example, one closet in each of two adjacent rooms with the outlet of the closets connected to couplings 634. The fitting is provided with a vertical hollow cylindrical stack portion having a vent 639 and lateral branches 636 which form a sanitary twin L and are connected to a lateral branch 633. The fitting is supported between finished wall members 624 and 625.
First arms 675 and second arms 676 are attached to a horizontal flange 677 and the flange 677 is supported in spaced relation to a plate 678 in a manner that the flange 77 in the embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. l, 2, and 3 is supported to the sub-floor 17 disclosed therein. The arms 675 and 676 are connected together by a bar 660 integral with the arm 676 and bolted to the arm 675. A Water closet may be connected to the arms 675 and 676 by fixture bolts 687 and 688, respectively, with nuts 690 and 691 attached thereto in the manner that the bolts in the embodiment in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 are attached to their upstanding legs. Laterally extending bars 645 and 632 are attached to the studdings of the building in the manner that the ends 45 and 46 are attached in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3.
The embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. 10 and 11 discloses a type of fitting suitable for installation in a slab construction building after the slalb has been poured. A fitting 810 can be supported in the partition or wall of a building. The full load of the fitting 810 is taken on the floor slab itself. A horizontal flange 877 is fixed to arms 875 and 876 which extend upwardly therefrom and the flange 877 is clamped to the floor by means of anchor bolts 896 which extend into anchors 812. The anchor bolts 896 will pull down the flange 877 against levelling screws 880 which bear on the cement floor and, therefore, hold the horizontal flange 877 rigidly to the floor. The twisting moment of the closet is taken by the bolts 860 which attach a forward end 849 to yokes 850 to the upper ends of the arms 875 and 876.
The levelling screws 880 engage threaded holes 879 in the horizontal flange 877 and rest on the floor at their lower end. Thus, the plate may be adjusted to properly level it and hold it in spaced relation to the floor. The yokes 850 have a horizontal portion terminating at the lower end at the flange 877 and attached thereto by means of bolts. A vent 839 communicates with the inside of the fitting 810.
The horizontal fitting 810 has an L 836 attached thereto and extending horizontally and forwardly therefrom and has a coupling 836 slidably received therein. The coupling 836 is held in spaced relation to the L flange by set screws 892 which threadably engage ears 893' and may be adjusted inwardly and outwardly to locate the coupling 836 relative to the wall and to the arms 875 and 876. The fitting 810 is attached to the arm 875 by bolts 867 and holes 867 are formed in the arm S76 to receive |bolts whenthe fitting 810 is reversed for a left hand installation.
Closet bolts 887 and 888 are received in the arms 875 and 876 and have nuts 891 and 892 thereon which are Y adapted to attach a closet to the arms 875 and S76.
The embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 12 is shown in cross section which would normally be taken on line 12-12 of FIG. 10. A coupling 936 is telescopically received in the end of an L 936 and has an external peripheral groove which receives an O-shaped sealing washer 994'. Therefore, the coupling 936 can be slid inwardly and outwardly, limited by a set screw 992 which is threadably received in the bores in peripheral spaced ears 993 which are attached to the L 936. A fixture bolt 988 is provided in an arm 976 for attaching the lower flange of a Water closet thereto. Hooks 991 are attached to the upper end of the arms 976 by means of bolts 987 which pass through the hooks 991 and spacers 990', thereby locking the hooks 991 in fixed relation to the arms 976 and to a wall surface 924. The gasket material indicated at 995 is used to seal the coupling 936 to the closet. The hooks 991 are provided to engage recesses in the rear of a closet flange to support a closet.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 9, a fitting 1010 has a horizontal branch 1036 communicating with the inside and a lower end 1020 and an upper end 1021 are adapted to be connected in a stack. A vent line 1039 is so disposed in the side of a horizontal passage 1036' that it vents the vertical stack aswell as the horizon-tal passage 1036. i
The embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 13 is similar to that shown in FIGS. and 111; however, it is made for use with a copper line 1110 ins-tead of the cast iron fitting 810 as in FIGS. 10 and 11. The index numerals for corresponding parts have 1100- added thereto in FIG. 13 instead of 800 as in FIGS. l0 and 111.
In the embodiment of the invention shown in FIG. 8, a fittin-g similar to the fitting 10 shown in FIG. 1 is disclosed; however, in this embodiment, the sides of the bell of the fitting are fiattened so that the plaster will not have to be notched to receive the edges of the fitting. A fitting 1232 has a flared end 1221 flattened at 12140. The .fitting 1232 has support bars 11245 and 1250v which function as the corresponding members in FIGS. 1, 2, and 3. Since the flared end 12121 is flattened, the plaster of walls 1224- and 1225 'does not have to be notched out as it would if the fitting 12132 were not iiattened.
The foregoing specification sets forth the invention in its prefer-red practical form but the structure shown is capable of modi-fication within a ran-ge of equivalents without departing from the invention which is to be understood is broadly novel as is commensurate with the lappended claims.
The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
1. A fitting for a water closet comprising,
a hollow fitting body having means on it for attaching it to a waste line,
a hollow lateral branch attached to said fitting body and extending laterally therefrom,
means on the distal end of said lateral branch to conneet said lateral branch to a water closet,
a face member,
means fixing said face member to said lateral branch at a position spaced later-ally from said fitting body on the sides of said branch adjacent said fitting body,
and means for supporting said face member to the structural member of a building,
tand means on said f'ace member for attaching a water closet thereto with said closet spaced laterally from said fitting body,
said means to connect said lateral branch to a Water closet comprising an L-shaped member connected to said lateral branch,
said L-shaped member being adapted to be rotated one hundredeighty degrees in said lateral branch to selectively connect a closet to either side of said lateral branch.
2. The fitting recited in claim 1 wherein said means to connect said lateral branch to a water closet comprises a T-shaped member having a first, a second, and a third branch,
said first branch connected to said lateral branch,
said second and third bnanches being disposed at degrees to each other and each of said second and third branches being connected to the outlet of a water closet on opposite sides of said lateral branch from the other.
3. The fitting recited in claim 1 wherein said means for supporting said face member on said building comprises a iiange attached to said face member,
and threaded means engaging said flange and engaging means on said building whereby said iiange may be supportedat selected positions above said structural member. '4. The fitting recitedin claim 1 wherein said face member comprises spaced legs fixed together at their lower end, disposed one on each side of said means on the end of said lateral branch,
and means connected to the upper ends of said legs connecting them to a member engaging said building structure.
I5. The fitting recited in claim 1 wherein said face member comprises laterally spaced legs fixed together at their lower ends and disposed one on each side of said means on the end of said late-nal branch,
land said means supporting said face member to said building comprises a support bar attached to the upper ends of said face member,
said means fixing said face member to said branch comprises laterally extending bars being spaced rear- Wa-rdly from said face member and adapted to engage studding members on the side thereof remote from said face member.
6. The fitting recited in claim 4 wherein said means connecting the upper ends of said legs to said building structure comprises yokes attached at their upper ends to the upper ends of said arm-s,
a flange mem-ber attached at its front to said face plate member,
said yokes extending rearwardly and downwardly and attached to said flange at their lower ends.
7. The fitting recited in claim 2 wherein a flange is attached to said face member,
yand spaced second arms comprising a second plate member are attachedat their lower ends to said liange at a position spaced from said first mentioned arms,
and means connecting the upper ends of said first arms and said second arms together,
said fitting being adapted to be disposed in a wall between two water closets with one of said closets attached to said first mentioned arms and the other the side of said hollow branch remote from said fitting body for attaching said member to said hollow branch when said face member may be attached to said fitting body when said face plate is reversed.
9. The tting recited in claim 1 wherein said means on said distal end of said hollow branch to connect said hollow branch to a water closet is spaced laterally from said hollow fitting body.
10. A litting for a water closet comprising,
a hollow fitting body having means on it for attaching it to a waste line,
a hollow lateral branch attached to said -tting body and extending laterally therefrom,
means on the distal end `of said lateral branch to connect said lateral branch to a water closet,
a face member,
a flange disposed below said branch and attached to said face member, l
spaced legs fixed to said liange adjacent the front edge thereof and extending therefrom generally parallel to the central axis of said fitting,
said means to connect said lateral branch to a water closet being disposed between said spaced legs,
and means attached .to the end of said legs remotest from said ilange for attaching said legs to a support member.
11. A litting for a water closet comprising a fitting member having a hollow vertically extending cylindrical portion,
a sanitary elbow,
means connecting said elbow to said cylindrical portion,
said elbow extending laterally then forwardly lfrom said means connecting it to said cylindrical portion,
said elbow being rotatable through one hundred eighty degrees to allow fit to face rearwardly for an opposite side installation,
a face `plate,
said plate having a front portion having upwardly extending arms,
a rearwardly extending flange integrally attached to said arms at the lower ends of said arms,
a support plate supported on a sub-floor,
notches in the .top surface of said support plate,
spaced adjusting screw means in said ange engaging said support plate notches,
a bar spaced rearwardly from the upper ends of said face plate arms and adapted to be attached -to two spaced studdings on the opposite side thereof from said closet,
means to attach said arms to said bar,
and means on said front portion to support a closet.
12. A lit-ting for a wall supported wall closet comprising,

a hollow cylindrical body adapted to be connected in a drainage line,
meanh to connect the discharge of a water closet to said hollow body,

said lower support .bar being attached to one said 4arm and supported on spaced studs of a Ibuilding,
an upper support bar,
means engaging the outer ends of said upper support bar and adapted .to be attached to said studs to support said upper support bar to said spaced studs of said building and to said arms,
and vmeans to 'adjustably support said ange in spaced relation to said plate.
13. The fitting recited in claim 12 wherein said upper support bar is supported on said studs of said building on the opposite side thereof from said arms,
`and said means to support said arms to said upper support bar comprises elongated bolts attached to said upper support bar and the upper ends of said arms.
14. The fitting recited in claim 12 wherein said means for supporting said flange in spaced relation to said plate comprises threaded members engaging said 'ange and extending downwardly,
and engaging means on said plate whereby said ange and said plate can be adjusted vertically relative to each lother.
15. The fitting recited i-n claim 12 wherein smd means for attaching said hollow cylindrical body -to a water closet comprises an L,
the inlet end of said L ybeing rotatable one hundred eighty degrees to selectively ifa-ce either side of a wall whereby awater closet may be supported on either side of said wall.

Claims (1)

1. A FITTING FOR A WATER CLOSET COMPRISING, A HOLLOW FITTING BODY HAVING MEANS ON IT FOR ATTACHING IT TO A WASTE LINE, A HOLLOW LATERAL BRANCH ATTACHED TO SAID FITTING BODY AND EXTENDING LATERALLY THEREFROM, MEANS ON THE DISTAL END OF SAID LATERAL BRANCH TO CONNECT SAID LATERAL BRANCH TO A WATER CLOSET, A FACE MEMBER, MEANS FIXING SAID FACE MEMBER TO SAID LATERAL BRANCH AT A POSITION SPACED LATERALLY FROM SAID FITTING BODY ON THE SIDES OF SAID BRANCH ADJACENT SAID FITTING BODY, AND MEANS FOR SUPPORTING SAID FACE MEMBER TO THE STRUCTURAL MEMBER OF A BUILDING, AND MEANS ON SAID FACE MEMBER FOR ATTACHING A WATER CLOSET THERETO WITH SAID CLOSET SPACED LATERALLY FROM SAID FITTING BODY, SAID MEANS TO CONNECT SAID LATERAL BRANCH TO A WATER CLOSET COMPRISING AN L-SHAPED MEMBER CONNECTED TO SAID LATERAL BRANCH, SAID L-SHAPED MEMBER BEING ADAPTED TO BE ROTATED ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY DEGREES IN SAID LATERAL BRANCH TO SELECTIVELY CONNECT A CLOSET TO EITHER SIDE OF SAID LATEREAL BRANCH.
