REFRIGERATOR.

Specification of Letters Patent No. 31,782, dated March 26, 1861.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, THOMAS W. CHAT- FIELD, of Utica, in the county of Oneida and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Ventilating-Refrigerator;

and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

It consists in the arrangement of a cold air chamber A, A, A, A, around the inclosure and between the opening B, passing into the air chamber C and to A and D,

thereby keeping it cool in place of charcoal or other materials used by others, the ice drawer E at the side containing acold air chamber I-I under the ice in the drawer E, thereby causing cold air to pass up the conducting pipes F F into the interior of refrigerator, ventilating its contents on the shelves, passing through G to top of air chamber C, passing 01f into the atmosphere D, making it a pure ventilating refrigerator.
