COMBIN ED BLOUSE AND PANTALOON-OVERALLS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 315,506, dated April 14, 1885.
Application filed July 19, 1884. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL JACOBS, a citizenof the United States, residing at Hutchinson, in the county of Reno andState of Kan- 5 sas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Blouse and Pantaloon-Overalls,of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
[ The object of this'invention is to construct a combined overall and blouse in such a manher as to dispense with suspenders and thoroughly protect the clothing, it being inexpensive, easy to put on, and comfortable to the wearer.
The invention is fully illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which shows the same partly in perspective and partlyin front elevation.
Referring to the said drawing by letter, A indicates an overall, the legs of which extend up the back or rear portion, and may be secured to the lower waist portion of the blouse to form a continuous body from the lower end of the legs to the top or neck of the blouse.
The rearportions of the pocketslits are provided with narrow vertical flaps a a, which are respectively provided at their upper ends with a button for holding up the front closing- 0 flaps, B B. These flaps, as well as being designed to fall from their upper ends to the base of the pocket-slits, are also centrally opened, and provided with the usual buttons and button-holes for closing them. Thus it 3 5 will be seen that a very large opening is made for the wearer to put them on without great exertion or soiling of clothing. The front p0rtion of theblouse is free from the pocket-slits at the waist to their outer ends, so that the 0 same may be thrown open its entire width in putting it on. The blouse is of a form closely resembling a vest-front, its front wings, C G,
being designed to overlap the upper front portion of the pants, having their lower edges free therefrom, connection being made with the front of the pants A by a strap, D, which is permanently secured to one of the wings of the blouse, as at E, having a hole for the reception of a button on one of the pants-flaps,
which is first passed through the button-hole F on the opposite flap. The meeting ed-gesof the wings of the blouse are also provided with buttons and button-holes for connecting the same when closed. It will also be perceived that this garment, as well as excluding dirt and 5 the like from the clothing of the wearer, will be much cooler than those at present innse.
A strap is attached to the waist portion of the garment, whereby both the pantaloon and blouse portion may be adjusted for the waist.
Having thus described my invention, what i I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is" l As an improved article, a combined pair of pants and a blouse, the rear of which is formed continuous, and the front of the blouse separated from and adapted to overlap the front of the pants, and provided with atag. as 'D, for connecting the same, the said pants having the vertical lateral flaps aa, provided with a button at their upper ends, and the falling front composed of the parts 13 B, which open well into the legs, and are adapted to be buttoned at their outer and adjacent edges, re-
spectively, as shown and described. l
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SAMUEL JAooBs.
