((1280-4119) These and other objects and advantages of the present invention will be fully apparent from the following dement over a ground surface,
FIGURE 2 is a position of the golf club cart in a rest condition,
FIGURE 3 is an elevational View of the cart as Viewed at right angles to FIGURE 2,
FIGURE 4 is a view on an the line 4-4 of FIGURE 3,
FIGURE 5 is a top plan view with the handle in folded condition,
FIGURE 6 is a view taken on the line 6 6 of FIG- URE 4,
FIGURE 7 is a fragmentary sectional view of the assembly shown in FIGURE 4,
FIGURE 8 is a View taken on the line 8-8 of FIG- URE 7, Y
FIGURE 9 is a View on an enlarged scale, taken on the line 9-9 of FIGURE 4, and
FIGURE 10 is a view taken on the line 10-10 of FIGURE 4.
Referring in detail .to the drawings, in which like numerals indicate like parts throughout the several views,
enlarged scale, taken on and 14 on the end portions thereof.
Rising from .the axle 10 is an upright body 16 fabricated of a plurality of high points 3,081,108 Patented Mar. 12, 1963 the adjacent sheet 18.
Below the box 54 and midway of the sheet 18 is a support member 60 having one end pivotally connected by a pin '62 to a U-shaped bracket 64 for swinging move- The bracket 64 is secured by rivets 66 to the sheet 18, as shown most clearly in FIGURE 7.
The support member 60 is provided with a slot 68 receiving the pin 62 and with a pin 70 which is received in a notch 72 provided in the legs of the bracket 64.
A rubber or plastic cup 74 is carried on the end of the support member 60 remote from the bracket 64.
When the support member 60 is in the swung upwardly wardly and held by the bracket 78.
Golf clubs as at 88 in FIGURE 3, are disposed with their shanks received in the spaces provided between the bowed portions of the sheets 18, 20, 22, and 24 with their free ends resting upon the adjacent bars 82, 84, or 86, as the case may be.
Preferably, the axle 10 has threaded portions on each end on which are received nuts 90 secured in place by cotter pins 92. Inwardly of the nuts 490 are washers 94 and 96 on each side of the adjacent wheel 12 or 14 and a bearing assembly 98 is formed or provided in the wheel 12 or 14 for the purpose of making the wheel as friction free as possible.
In a position of storage, the support member 60 is swung downwardly as in FIGURE 4 and the handle 38 where it is held in the downward swung position by means of a clip 100 secured to the sheet 24 by rivets 102.
In use, the golf club cart of the present invention will protect the handles or shanks of golf clubs and the box 54 will provide space for gloves, golf balls, golf tees, and the like.
When stored, the golf club cart of the present invention takes up little space and has three point support on and described other forms of the invention are contemplated. The sheets of corrugated plastic may be of such colors as desired for identification purposes or may be desired. Numerous changes and modilications may be made in the design of the golf club cart of the present invention for manufacturing purposes.
-What is claimed is:
In a golf club cart including a wheel supported axle, an upright body rising from said axle, said body being fabricated of four vertically disposed sheets of plastic material, the rst and fourth sheets each being corrugated so as to have three concave sections on one face and four concave sections on the other face, the second and third sheets each being corrugated so as to have four concave sections on one face and live concave sections on the other-face, said sheets being arranged so that the four concave sections on the other face of said rst sheet are in registry with the four concave sections on said one face of said second sheet, with the five concave sections on the other face of said second sheet in registry with the tive concavetsections on the other face of said third sheet,
and with the four concave sections on said one face of said third sheet in registry with the four concave sections on the other face of said fourth sheet, means securing adjacent ones of said sheets together, a handle pivotally connected by one end to said body intermediate the ends of said bod-y, and a bar extending along the lower ends of each of the adjacent sheets partially closing the substantially circular compartments provided by the registering adjacent concave sections, each of the compartments being adapted to receive therein the shaft of an inverted golf club.
