The invention relates to a toy, comprising a rotating clockwork, moving one or more railway dummies which pass either through a tunnel or which can be stopped there. For this purpose a signalling device is provided, which can be adjusted by hand or by means of electrical appliances. A further advantage is seen in stamping the frame in one piece together with the bridge and the tunnel.
An example of the invention is represented in th drawing.
Fig. 1 represents a top view with the drum removed.
Fig. 2 represents a side view.
A clockwork 2 within a drum 3 is pivoted in a known manner on a frame I. The clockwork 2 has a winding axle 4 and an extension 5 sloping from the centre to which a spring wire finger 6 is attached, carrying a railway dummy or the like i at its end.
The railway dummy is moved in a circle by the rotating clockwork. The frame I has a bridgelike connecting part 8 and a passage 9 representing a tunnel. These parts are stamped out of one single piece.
The wall of the tunnel does not quite reach the bottom on the inner side in order to enable the rotating wire finger 6 to pass through this ap.
For the purpose of stopping the rotating railway dummy inside the tunnel, an adjustable signal arm [0 is pivoted on an axle at the exit of the tunnel.
Deviatory from the drawn example the signal arm can also be placed near the entrance of the tunnel, also several tunnels and railway dummies can be provided.
What I claim is:
1. In a toy of the character described, a circular base frame, an elongated bridge extension at one side of the frame, an arcuate tunnel at the outer end of the bridge extension, said tunnel being of inverted U-shape with the outer wall integral at its lower edge with the outer end of the bridge extension and with the inner wall of the tunnel terminating upwardly of the extension, a clockwork mechanism centrally mounted on the base frame, a spring Wire finger extending from the clockwork mechanism and adapted to be swung in a circular horizontal path above the base frame and. bridge extension, and railway dummies carried by the outer end of the wire finger to move through said tunnel, the space between the bridge extension and inner wall of the tunnel providing clearance for the circular movement of the spring finger.
2. A toy as in claim 1, wherein a signal arm is carried by one end of the tunnel for controlling passage of the railway dummies through the tunnel.
3. A toy as in claim 1, wherein a signal arm is carried by one end of the tunnel for controlling passage of the railway dummies through the tunnel, said signal arm comprising an elongated bar pivoted intermediate its ends to a side wall of the tunnel with one end of the arm adapted to be extended across an open end of the tunnel.
4. A toy as in claim 1, wherein a rotatable inclosing drum overlies the clockwork mechanism.
