This invention relates to detachable drawer stops, to be placed on the rear wall of a drawer for the purpose of stoppingthe outward movement of a drawer when it has reached its limit, and to prevent its being pulled clear of its slideway and dropping on the floor.

The principal object of the invention is to provide a stop with spaced legs or extension, which can be placed on the rear Wall of a drawer and which will function as a stop when the drawer has been pulled out to the limit.

Other objects of the invention are: to provide a stop of the character referred to having two legs or extensions to straddle on the rear wall of a drawer and which also has an upper p-art projecting above the wall on which it is mounted and which is rigid and of such form as to constitute a strong stop element, not subject to bending or breaking; to provide a stop of the character referred to in which the legs or extensions which straddle the rear wall of a drawer are heavier than the upper part, whereby to cause.

said stop to stand upright on said drawer and when tilted to return to upright position when released.

In order to explain my invention, I have shown one practical from thereof on the accompanying sheet oi drawings, in which: Y

Figure 1 is an end View of a desk, with a part broken out, to show the drawer with one of the stops, constituting the invention, in place thereon;

' Figure 2 is a side elevation of the invention;

Figure 3 is a sectional view of the invention, indicating its position on a wall, indicated in light broken lines, and showing a struck-in lip on which said stop rests on the edge of a wall;

Figure 4 is an open side view of the invention;

Figure 5 is an end view, looking down into the device; and

Figure 6 indicates how the stop can be laid down on the edge of a wall and will swing into upright position when released.

Referring to the drawings in detail, a desk 1 is shown in Fig. 1, with a drawer 8, pulled partially out, with. the rear wall 9 partly in section, and showing the invention on said wall. The slide- The invention as a whole is designated I2, and

in the present showing is of channel form, with the side Walls I3, I3, and the rear wall I4, with a struck-in lip I5, between the side walls I3, I3, as seen in Figs. 3, 4 and 5. The side walls I3, I3, are extended in length and constitute spaced legs to straddle over the back Wall 9 of the drawer. Said legs or extensions I3, I3 are suiciently long to be heavier than the top part of said device so they will swing downwardly into upright position when placed on the wall. The struck-.in lip or member I5 forms a flat rest or support for the device on therwall, as indicated, so that the way for the drawer is designated I0, and the device will remain in place on the wall, and in upright position at all times. If desired, said de- Vvice can be further secured in place by screws through the holes I6 in the ends of said legs.

The form of the invention can be changed, as to its cross sectional form, if desired, but the present embodiment is economical to make, is rigid and sufliciently strong to withstand the stop engagement with the front of the desk at I I.

I do not, therefore, limit the invention to the showing made, except as I may be limited by the hereto appended claim.

I claim:

A drawer stop as shown consisting of a channel-like member having side walls and a rear wall connecting said side walls, said side and rear walls providing an upper portion which is substantially square in cross section, the side walls being extended to form two spaced legs to straddle a drawer Wall, and said rear wall having its lower end struck in to form a horizontal lip between said side Walls to rest upon the top edge of said drawer wall, saidtwo spaced legs being heavierthan the upper portion to swing by gravity to vertical position with the upper ends of said side Walls and said rear wall constituting the stop on said drawer.
