i This 'appmiation is 'a division of my application for 'Letters Patent, filed July 28, 1945, Serial No. 607,545, which has matured intoPa'tentNo.
2,492,728, dated-December 27, 1949." V The main objects of this invention are:
First; to. provide a holder for paper rolls, such 1 as toilet paper andpaper rolls generally, in which the holder is in the for-in of a wall receptaclewith which the roll supporting spindle may be' easily released. or disengaged. Y 1
Second, to provide a structure having these advantages which is attractive in appearance and Eis' simple andeconomicalinits parts.
Objects relating to details and economies of the inventionwili appear from the description to follow. The invention is pointed out in the claims I A preferred embodiment of the'invention-isf accompanying drawings, in-
illustrated in the which: A
Fig. 1 is airagmentary view partially in longitudinal section on a line corresponding to line il of Fig52, of a roll holder embodying my; invention shown in supported relation to a wall."
Fig. 2 is a front elevational;vi ew, l I 1 Fig. 3 is a fragmentary seetional view on a line corresponding to line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
In the accompanying drawing, 1 represents a wall having a recess 2 therein-and 3 tile or other.
wall surface finishing 4 represents a roll of v paper'wound upon a tubular core 5. The holder is in the form of a receptacle 6 open at the front and provided with laterally projectingflanges I,
one of the end flanges being provided with an enlargement 8. The recess 2 'in the "wall is f such dimensions as to receive the receptacle, the flanges 1 being desirably flush with the wall tile or facing 3. The end walls 9 and 10 of the receptacle are provided with bearings II. the
bearing in the wall l0 opening to the outer side thereof.
The spindle comprises telescoping sections I2 and I3 having journal portions H coacting with the bearings H, shouldered at l5 for thrust engagement with the inner sides of the end walls. The spindle section I! has a longitudinal bore l6 therein opening at its inner end and telescopingly receiving the re;
duced section H of the spindle section l3. The coil spring I8 is seated in the bottom of the bore l8 and is in thrust engagement with the inner end of the reduced Portion ll of the section [3 yieldingly urging the sections outwardly and the spindle sections bein 25.. v v V in a very practical embodiment thereon I have Having lthus diescribed is .invent'ionfwnat I of a receptacle openat the front and co'mprising I end walls havingopposd spindle,bearingsltheremaintaining their journals in "engagement' with the bearingsin' the endwa1ls.-
,The end wall 10 of .the-receptacle is provided with spaced ears l9 receiving the pivot :20 for the release lever 2l,the.swinging'end.of which engages .the'outer end 'ofthe' spindle member i3. Thespring,l-8 urges the release member-12 ito retracted position. The release member iiiis actuated ;by the push button 22 having a stem forwardly. v
The structure'illustrated is veryattractive and at the same time ,very convenient to manipulate. I have illustrated and described my invention not attempted to illustrate orgdescribe other embodiments or. adaptations as it isb'elieved that this disclosure will enable thosegskilled inthe art to embody ortadapt-my invention as may be desired.
