This invention relates to a Wrist watch compact, and more particularly to a ladys Vanity case which may be worn on the wrist of the wearer and which has both the ornamental appearance and the utility of a wrist watch when such is not being used as a vanity case.
An object of this invention resides in the provision of a wrist Watch compact having an upper casing for receiving a wrist watch therein.
A further object of the invention resides in the provision of a ladys Vanity case adapted to be worn on the wrist which has a watch carried thereby.
Yet another object of this invention is to provide resilient supporting means for a watch incorporated in a wrist watch compact, the supporting means safely preventing loose powder from injuring the internal Works of the watch.
Still further objects of the invention resides in the provision of compartmentation means for carrying a combination lipstick and perfume bottle, loose powder and a powder puff, a combination eyelash brush or an eyebrow pencil, and a nail file in a lower container pivotally attached to an upper casing in which a wrist watch, a rouge pad and rouge, and a mirror are supported.
Still further objects of the invention reside in the provision of a wrist watch compact that is strong, durable, highly efcient in operation, simple in construction and design, capable of being readily worn on the wrist of a wearer, highly attractive in appearance, and capable of being made in various ornamental shapes and sizes.
These, together with the various ancillary objects of the invention which will become apparent as the following description proceeds, are attained by this wrist watch compact, a preferred embodiment of which has been illustrated in the accompanying drawings, -by Way of example, wherein:
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the wrist watch compact comprising the present invention;
Figure 2 is a vertical sectional View taken along line 2-2 of Figure l;
Figure 3 is an enlarged top plan view of the invention showing the upper casing in an open position and pivoted away from the lower container;
Figure 4 is an enlarged Vertical sectional View as taken along line 4-4 in Figure 1;
Figure 5 is an eleveational View of the combination lipstick and eyebrow pencil comprising one element of the invention.
With continuing reference to the accompanying drawings wherein like reference numerals designate similar parts throughout the various views, the reference numeral' I0 generally designates the wrist watch compact comprising the present invention. This wrist watch compact comprises an upper casing l2 of any desirable ornamental configuration which is pivotally attached by hinges I4 to a lower container portion i6. A suitable catch or lock I8 is provided to secure the upper casing l 2 to the lower container portion I6 when the device is not being used as a compact.
As can be readily seen the central portion of the upper casing I2 is provided with a depressed central wall 20 forming the recess 22 in which rouge 24 together with a resilient rouge pad 26 can be readily emplaced. By means of hinge 28 a suitable watch 3l) is pivotally attached to the upper casing member l2 and a catch 32 engageable within a recess 34 in the wall 20 retains the Watch 30 in the recess 22. It is to be noted that when the watch 38 is positioned within the recess 22 the resilient pad 26 provides a suitable shock absorbing mounting for the watch 30. Secured to the bottom portion 36 of the wall 20 is a mirror 38 which is also attached to the outer peripheral edge of the upper casing l2. Hence, when the compact is opened the mirrored surface 38 becomes readily available.
The lower container I6 is provided with a pair of partition walls 46 and 42 which divide the lower container portion into a plurality of compartments 44, 46 and 48. Within the compartment 46 there is emplaced loose face powder 50 which is substantially held in place by powder puit` 52 of substantially the shape of compartment 46. A change purse is provided in the powder puii.
A retainer lug 54 is attached to the inner surface of the end wall of the lower container I6 within the compartment 44 for reception and retention of a nail le 56. Further, within the container 44 there is positioned a combination eyebrow pencil and eyelash brush 58. Within the compartment 48 there is adapted to be emplaced a combination lipstick and perfume bottle 60, the design of which is shown best in Figure 5. The combination lipstick and perfume bottle comprises a container portion 62 for reception of perfume 64. A cork or plastic member 66 is inserted in the container portion 62 and has an orifice 68 through which the perfume 64 may be dispensed. A cylindrical cap lll which may be screwed on or pressed on the outer surface of the container portion of the combination lipstick and perfume bottle 6l] is provided. This cap 'I0 has a projection 12 extending from the inner surface cen- 3 trally for plugging engagement with the orifice 68.
Since from the foregoing the construction and advantages of this combination wrist watch compact is readily understandable, furtherdescrip-` tion is believed to be unnecessary.
However, since numerous modifications will readily occur to those skilled in the art after a consideration of the foregoing specification and accompanying drawings, it is not intended to limit the invention to the precise embodiment shown and described, but all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to which fall within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
l. For use as a wrist accessory and constituting a compact and wrist Watch ensemble; a multipurpose utility comprising an open top container section embodying a bottom and an upstanding Wall circumscribing said bottom, spaced parallel reinforcing partitions in said container section and secured to said bottom and cooperating portions of said upstanding wall, the upper edges of said partitions terminating on planes spaced below the upper edges of said upstanding wall, and a casing section corresponding in size to said container section and hinged to the latter, said casing section lidding over said open top and providing a cover for said open top, said casing 3 section embodying a centrally apertured top wall and laterally depending marginal walls, a depressed wall member recessed through the central aperture and having its wall portions spaced from said marginal walls and providing a Wellshaped rouge receiver, a mirror secured in part to said recessed wall and also secured in part directly to said marginal walls, said mirror lidding over said open top and being spaced from said partitions, means separably fastening said casing section to said container section, and a lid fitted into said central aperture and closing said receiver, said lid being a watch and being hingedly latched on said casing section.
2. The structure dened in claim l, and a resilient rouge partitioning pad tted snugly but removably in said receiver and providing a shock absorbing cushion for said watch when the latter is in its receiver lidding position.
