My invention has to do with sanitary devices and has as its principal object the provision of a sanitary urinal for men afflicted with urological ailments which impair their ability to control the release of urine.

I am aware that receptacles to be worn by the user have been proposed-much a device being shown in my United States Letters Patent No. 2,573,449, but those of which I am aware have possessed the shortcoming that pools of the collected liquid form to which the male organ is exposed, so that not only are they uncomfortable but also somewhat unsanitary.

A more specific object of my present invention is to provide a device which overcomes said diificulty.

Another object is to provide a device of this character which is simple and economical in construction, highly sanitary and which may be worn comfortably.

' By way of explaining my invention, I shall now describe a preferred embodiment thereof, for which purpose I shall refer to the accompanying drawings, wherein:

In the drawings, 5 denotes a waist-encircling belt, preferably made of a suitable plastic material. One of its ends is fixed to a front flexible strip 6, likewise preferably of plastic, as by heat sealing at I, while the other end of the belt is adapted to be releasably secured to the other end of the strip 6 as by a conventional snap fastener 8.

A bag-like receptacle [5 is suspended from strip 6 by flexible strips I! one end of each of which is secured to the receptacle as by heat sealing at [8, while the other end of each strip l! is releasably attached to the outer end of a tab 20 by a conventional snap fastener 2 l. The inner end of each tab 20 is secured to the strip 6 in any suitable way, as by a grommet 22.

An auxiliary strap 25 of adjustable length is detachably secured at its ends to the respective strips I! as by conventional snap fasteners 25, the strap 25 being disposed to loop under the testes of the wearer to prevent the receptacle from swinging outwardly away from the wearer.

The receptacle l5 has its side wall |5a converge at its bottom end to a discharge neck so which neck is fitted with a valve-controlled plug 32.

The top or inlet end of the receptacle converges to a reduced diameter inlet opening 35 which is reinforced by a relatively rigid ring 36 about which the side wall of the receptacle is disposed and terminates in an inwardly disposed flange 38. Ring 36 has an annular groove 31 in its periphery and is held in place by a snap ring 40, which compresses the side wall of the receptacle in the groove.

The interior of the receptacle is divided into an inlet chamber 45 and a collecting chamber 46, by means of a division or partition member 50 now to be described.

Member 50 is composed of two opposed sheets 52, 53 of flexible plastic material secured together along their marginal portions as shown at 55, and secured along its top edge 56 to the inner surface of side wall l5a, as by heat sealing.

Member 50 is open at its top and at its bottom portion it is provided with two outlet necks 60, 6!, which necks remain collapsed, with their opposite Walls in contact with each other, except when passing liquid from the inlet chamber to the collecting chamber. It will thus be noted that the necks 60, 5| function as check valves to prevent reverse passage of liquid from chamber 46 to chamber 45. To insure said necks remaining collapsed, I may secure the opposite walls 52, 53 together above and between the necks as by a fastener 65.

To facilitate strapping the receptacle to the users leg, as by straps 65, I provide loops 61 secured to the exterior of the receptacle.

It will be apparent that, in use, when the male organ is inserted through the neck 38 it remains disposed within the chamber 45 which is at all times relatively dry since any liquid deposited in chamber 45 immediately passes through necks 60, 6| into the collecting chamber from which there may not be any return flow.

I claim:

1.
