In the-machines of this type executed heretofore, the. mechanism. is arranged in the lower part ofthe machine it belongs; to and the shafts of the propeller and of the, distributor enter the vatthrough stuffing-boxes. This arrangement leads to different drawbacks; leakages. at the stuffing-boxes, difficult. access and keeping up of the mechanical parts, location of the vat at a high level, etc.
The improvements provided by my invention remove these drawbacks. and provide different advantageswhich will appear from; the following 7 description.

Inside the inner rotary tube I2 stands tubular shaft I8, to the lower end of which is keyed the propeller 4.
The rotary tube I2 is solid with a part I9 which rotates inside the casing II. Said part I9 is solid with a worm wheel 20 driven by the worm 2I-,;said worm bein itself driven by the worm Wheel 22 meshing with a second worm 23 rotating integrally with a pulley 24 operatively connected with the motor 25 through the belt 25.
The propeller shaft I8 rotates inside part I9, preferably with the interposition of two conical ball o roller bearings 21 and 28 and it carries at its upper end a pulley 29 connected with the motor 25 through the belts 30.
A washer 3I, provided with a flange for protection against dribbling prevents the grease contained inside part I9 from falling into the bath. Similarly a washer 32, the flange of which also forms a protection against dribbling, prevents the grease from the above described mechanisms from falling into the bath through the opening 33 affording a passage for the rotary tube I2., 7 I
The oil, grease and condensation water thus deflected from the upper part of the machine are collected in a channel 34 of stainless metal and poured outside the machine.
Part of the bath forced by the propeller 4 inside the rotary distributor 6 enters the rotary tube I2 and through apertures 35 provided in said tube, passes inside the stationary tube Ill. The latter shows, openings 36 at'a level which is suflicientlyhigh to be substantially above the level surface XX of the dyeing bath." Part of ;the bath liquid is thus poured over the bath end an admission for steam 38 and it leads the steam towards the lower'part-of the tube In through apertures '39. This steam" mixes'Ewith the portion of the bath forced through the inner tubes and heats said portion. The heated bath pours out of the upper part of the machine, asexplained hereinabove. By reason of the great tu bul ncr ausedby t e cir ulation of the bath, the temperature has atendencyto become uniform throughout the mass of the bath. However, the propeller 4 sucks the lower part of the bath which is at a lower temperature, which furthers the'efliciency of the propeller.
*A'central sluice valve 40 allows the draining of the machine. The advantage of this central arrangement of the sluice valve is to require the welding of no pipe on to the conical bottom 2 'of the vat of stainless steel as the body 40 of the sluice valve may be easily bolted on to the bottom 2.
A C-shaped frame 42 resting on a support 43 carries on one hand the casing II and on the other the motor 24. It is preferably constituted by electrically welded sectional iron.
Of course, my invention is by no means limited to the form of execution illustrated and described which has been chosen solely by way of example.
Said invention covers all modification falling within the scope of the following claims,
Having now described my invention What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. A machine for dyeing, bleaching, washing, finishing, and like treatment of textile goods comprising a vat for the treating bath including a cylindrical body having a main bottom and a perforated false bottom above the main bottom, a rotatable hollow distributor having an aperture arranged to sweep the underside of the false bottom, a propeller operable to induce circulation of the bath upwardly through the distributorand those of the perforations in the false bottom overlying the distributor apertureand downwardly from the body through the remaining perforations in the false bottom outlying said distributor aperture, a stationary tube secured to the central portion of the perforated bottom to support and stiffen the latter, drive means for the propeller including a shaft extending up-v wardly through the tube and drive means for the distributor including a tubular shaft surrounding the propeller shaft and. having an open lower 3 end for the admission of the bath and perforations at its upper end for the discharge of the bath, said stationary tube having perforations therein for dischargin the bath above the level of the latter in said vat.
2. A machine as claimed in claim 1 further comprising means for admitting steam between the tubular shaft and the stationary tube.
3. A machine as claimed in claim 1 provided with a packing Of thin yieldable incurved stainless metal blades secured to the edge of the aperture in said distributor frictionally engaging at their free edges with the underside of the'false bottom.

A MACHINE FOR DYEING, BLEACHING, WASHING, FINISHING, AND LIKE TREATMENT OF TEXTILE GOODS COMPRISING A VAT FOR THE TREATING BATH INCLUDING A CYLINDRICAL BODY HAVING A MAIN BOTTOM AND A PERFORATED FALSE BOTTOM ABOVE THE MAIN BOTTOM, A ROTATABLE HOLLOW DISTRIBUTOR HAVING AN APERTURE ARRANGED TO SWEEP THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FALSE BOTTOM, A PROPELLER OPERABLE TO INDUCE CIRCULATION OF THE BATH UPWARDLY THROUGH THE DISTRIBUTOR AND THOSE OF THE PERFORATIONS IN THE FALSE BOTTOM OVERLYING THE DISTRIBUTOR APERTURE AND DOWNWARDLY FROM THE BODY THROUGH THE REMAINING PERFORATIONS IN THE FALSE BOTTOM OUTLYING SAID DISTRIBUTOR APERTURE, A STATIONARY TUBE SECURED TO THE CENTRAL PORTION OF THE PERFORATED BOTTOM TO SUPPORT AND STIFFEN THE LATTER, DRIVE MEANS FOR THE PROPELLER INCLUDING A SHAFT EXTENDING UPWARDLY THROUGH THE TUBE AND DRIVE MEANS FOR THE DISTRIBUTOR INCLUDING A TUBULAR SHAFT SURROUNDING THE PROPELLER SHAFT AND HAVING AN OPEN LOWER END FOR THE ADMISSION OF THE BATH AND PERFORATIONS AT ITS UPPER END FOR THE DISCHARGE OF THE BATH, SAID STATIONARY TUBE HAVING PERFORATIONS THEREIN FOR DISCHARGING THE BATH ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE LATTER IN SAID VAT.
