(11150 -35) This invention relates to a novel construction of billfold for use by physicians and provided with means for containing a normal supply of narcotics as ordinarily required to be carried by physicians thus affording a means whereby valuable narcotics may be conveniently carried by a,

physician on his person eliminating the danger of loss which exists where narcotics are carried in instrument bags.

It has frequently occurred that instrument bags have been stolen from physicians by narcotic addicts seeking to obtain narcotics and which not only results in a loss of the narcotics but also in the loss of valuable instruments and other valuables carried in a physician's case.

Accordingly, as it is usually necessary for practicing physicians to carry small amounts of narcotics for emergency cases. it is a primary object of the present invention to provide a means whereby such narcotics may be carried conveniently and safely without danger of loss and by the use of which narcotic addicts will be discouraged from attempting to obtain narcotics by stealing physicians cases.

Still a further and particularly important object of the present invention is to provide a container for narcotics adapted to be carried upon the person thereby eliminating the danger of loss or injury to narcotics which may readily occur if left in an instrument bag in an automobile during sub-freezing weather.

Various other objects and advantages of the invention will hereinafter become more fully apparent from the following description of the drawing illustrating one presently preferred embodiment thereof, and wherein:

Figure 1 is a plan view looking toward the inner side of the narcotics container and billfold and showing the container and billfold in an extended, open position;

Figure 2 is an enlarged longitudinal sectional view taken substantially along a plane as indicated by the line 2--2 of Figure 1;

Figure 3 is an enlarged fragmentary longitudinal sectional view showing an end portion of the billfold-container in a closed position, and

Figures 4 and 5 are enlarged cross sectional views taken substantially along planes as indicated by the lines 4-4 and 5-5, respectively, of Figure 1.

Referring more specifically to the drawing. the billfold-container in its entirety and comprising the invention is designated generally 6 and includes a body portion, designated generally I which may be formed of any suitable. flexible 2 material such as is conventionally used for making billfolds, usually leather, and which includes an elongated strip of such flexible material which is folded back upon itself intermediate of its ends to provide an inner ply 8 and an outer ply 9. The plies 8 and 9 are connected at a point adjacent to but spaced from the intermediate portion of said body member by a row of stitching Ill which is disposed transversely of the plies and which separates the intermediate portion of the body member 1 from the end portions thereof, forming the plies 8 and 9, said intermediate portransversely of the billfold-container lower end as by means of a disc 12 of a corresponding material which may be stitched orotherwise secured to the lower end of the sleeve H, as indicated at l3.

The intermediate portion of the inner ply ii is lapped and stitched as seen at [4 along a line transversely of said ply to provide a transverse sleeve portion l5 which is located intermediate of the ends of the body member 1 and on the exterior side of the inner ply 8. The ends of the plies 8 and 9, constituting the end of the body member I located remote to the sleeve H are stitched as seen at 16 along a line transversely of the body member and the complementary bottom longitudinal edges of the plies 8 and a are stitched together along the line [1 so that the plies 8 and 9 will combine to form an elongated open top compartment I8 which extends substantially the length of the billfold container 6 and which may be utilized similar to a conventional wallet for containing paper money.

However, if desired, a single vial 21 of proper size could be mounted in the container l9.
