This invention relates generally to toys and moreparticularly to a folding structure such as a toy fort.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a device made of two blanks which when folded along score lines and interlocked will present a fort.

2Claims. (Cl.46-21) vIt is another object of the present invention to so arrange or dispose the folding sections of blanks, so that the blanks may be interlocked in avery efficient, practical and simple manner..

These and other objects and certain advan tageous features are accomplished by the novel and practical construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter disclosed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, constituting an essential part of the disclosure, and in which:

Referring now more particularly to the drawing, there is shown in Fig. 1 a blank generally in dicated by the numeral l0, and in Fig. 2 a blank generally indicated by the numeral ll. These blanks l0 and II are made of a suitable flexible material such as paste board, card board, fiber etc.

Blank I0 is scored and die-cut to provide when set up, rear vertical wall section I2, bottom wall section or base l3, horizontal platform It, vertical front -wall section I5, spaced apart vertical end wall sections I6, I! joined together by the vertical front wall [8. Blank H shown, in Fig. 2 is scored. andidiecut to provide a front wall sectionflll. to which are connected by means of score lines 30a, the end wall sections 3|, front wall section 3 0 being provided with a-slot 30b and a plurality .of spaced tabs 30c hinged at 30d. Elements 30c, simulating doors, are formed out of section 30 and are swingable along the fold lines 30f. Connected to section 30 by the fold line 32 is a bottom tab 33.

In setting up the fort, blank I0 is folded and which is "portions thereof interlocked as follows;

Then. the blank is folded along the crease lines 25 and tabs l5a are made to engage slits 18a. The blank H in Fig. 2 is now folded rearwardly along the crease lines 30aand 32 and inserted in the folded blank ID at the rear of platform I4, the tab Mb of blank It) being inserted in slot 30b of blank II and the folded end walls 3| of blank H abutting against the inner-face of wall [2 of blank l0. Fig. 3 shows the section l5 divided into a pair of lower front wall sections l5b, extending underneath respective cuts Mia, and an intermediate section I50. .A pair of slots 34, formed in the end walls 3| of blank II as shown in Fig. 2, are designed to accommodate the tabs 29a of flap 29 as seen clearly in Fig. 5. Portion [2a extending from wall 12 is now folded downwardly into a horizontal position and the tabs 12d made to engage the slots formed by the outward displacement of tabs 300, see Fig. 5. It will also be noted from that figure that the tabs l2c previously referred to remain upright when the portion 42a is folded down, these tabs representing battlements similar to those formed by the tabs I9. The toy fort has now been set up for use.

It is thus seen that the present invention comprises simple and practical parts which can be folded and set up to comprise a toy device. The device comprises a relatively few parts which may be inexpensively manufactured and assembledand which is well adapted to accomplish among others, all of the objects and advantages herein set forth.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:

l. A folding toy fort made of two blanks; one of said blanks having score lines and when folded along said lines providing a vertical rear wall, a bottom wall extending forwardly from the lower edge of said rear Wall, end walls extending forwardly from each of the opposite side edges'of said rear wall, front wall sections extending inwardly from the front edges of said end walls and having, slits formed above the lower edges thereof, side walls extending rearwardly from the inner edges of said front wall sections, said end walls, front wall sections and said side walls forming turrets extending forwardly from the pposite ends of said rear wall, an upstanding low intermediate front wall extending from the forward edge of said bottom wall, projections extending upwardly from said front wall adjacent the opposite ends thereof and engaging in said slits formed in said front wall sections, a platform extending rearwardly from the upper edge of said low intermediate front wall between said projections; the other of said blanks having score lines and when being folded along said lines providing a front wall engaging between said rearwardly extending side walls and resting upon said platform in rearwardly spaced relation to said w intermediate front wall and end flaps 4 extending from the side edges of said front wall; tab means connecting said front wall of said other blank to said rear wall of said first blank, and tab means connecting said side walls to said end flaps.

2. A folding toy fort made of two blanks; one of said blanks having score lines and when folded along said lines providing a vertical rear wall, a bottom wall extending forwardly from the lower edge of said rear wall, end walls extending forwardly from each of the opposite side edges of said rear wall, front wall sections extending inwardly from the front edges of said end walls and having slits formed above the lower edges thereof, side wallsextending rearwardly from the inner edges of said front wall sections, said end walls, front wall sections and said side walls forming turrets extending forwardly from the opposite ends of said rear wall, an upstanding low intermediate front ,wall extending from the forward edge of said bottom wall, projections extending upwardly from said front wall adjacent the opposite ends thereof and engaging in said slits formed in said front wall sections, and a platform extending rearwardly from the upper edge of said low intermediate front wall between said projections; the other of said blanks having score lines and when folded along said lines providing a front walladapted to engage between said rearwardly extending side walls and to rest upon said platform in rearwardly spaced relation to said lowintermediate front wall and end flaps extending from the side edges of said front wall.
