A'ireserve bobbin magazine can ordinarily be adapted for bobbins of different lengths if appropriate changesare made in the bobbin tip supporting plate and delivery cradles. With these and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, my invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and set forth.

As shown'in Fig. :2 the .transferrerarm has a "footdfl forzthe butt 2! 10f=b0bbln B and hasalso a second. touts-22 j spaced several inches from the first foot (in the idirectionof thelength of the :bobbinitoward .the' tip'ofthe latter. The transferrer-arm ha-s top andbottom webs 2t and 2d, respectively,:integralwith-the feet 26 and 22 to cause both of the feet .to descend in unisoniduring abobbin transferring operation.
The matter thus far described is of common zconstruction and of itself forms no part of the ;present-inventionexcept as noted hereinafter.

The carrier can be made as a sheet metal stamping and can be applied to or removed from the transferrer arm by reason of the screws 35.
An auxiliary or third foot til, which may be made of compressible but resilient material such as felt, is held against the outer surface of flange 32 by means of screws 4| which pass through a holding or clamping plate 42 and foot 48 and are tapped into flange 32, see Fig. 4. The felt pad or foot 49 may have parallel sides one of which engages the plate 42 and. the other of which engages the flange 3'2, and its bottom may be inclined downwardly and toward bobbin tip T, as at 45, and concave to fit the bobbin, see Fig. 6.
When a full bobbin is being transferred as indicated in Fig. 2 the two feet 20 and 22 and also the auxiliary foot 40 engage the bobbin. The foot 49 effectively prevents upward movement of the tip end of the bobbin during the transferring operation, and its vertical adjustment on foot 22 permits it to be used with different diameters of weft on bobbin B. As shown in Fig. 2 the foot 22 is not very far from the center of gravity of a full bobbin and if the first engagement or blow of the foot 20 against the bobbin butt 2| should cause the latter to move downwardly faster than the transferrer arm the bobbin tip T may tend to rise relatively to the center of the bobbin. Such motion, however, is effectively prevented by the foot 40.
If the bobbin should be only partly wound with weft so that the foot 22 does not engage any part of the bobbin or its weft the compressible foot 40 will be in position to limit upward movement of the tip end T of the bobbin during the transferring operation. Also, if the transferrer arm is designed primarily for a short bobbin but is desired to be used with a longer bobbin, the carrier or plate can be added to foot 22 to control a long bobbin in its descent during transfer.
The bottoms of the several feet which engage the bobbin are preferably at different levels. The foot 20 is the lowest of the three feet and will ordinarily be the first to engage the bobbin during transfer. The second foot 221 is somewhat higher than the foot 20, while the bottom of foot 40 will be at an elevation intermediate the bottoms of feet 20 and 22. During transfer when the relations are as set forth in Fig. 2 there is likely to be' some compression of the foot 40 but the latter because of its resilience recovers its normal shape after transfer.
From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided an improved form of bobbin transfer having three bobbin engaging feet one of which is for the intermediate part of the bobbin, and the third of which is adjacent to the bobbin tip to prevent upward movement of the latter during transfer. It will also be seen that the auxiliary or third foot 40 is mounted on a carrier 30 which 7 can be applied to or removed. from the main body of the transferrer arm as desired, depending upon the length of the bobbin. The auxiliary foot 40 is made of compressible material and extends downwardly preferably to a position lower than foot 22, but preferably not as low as foot 20. Vertical adjustment of carrier 30 permits use of foot 40 with various diameters of weft on the bobbin.
Having thus described my invention it will be seen that changes and modifications may be made therein by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention and I do not wish to be limited to the details herein disclosed, but what I claim is:
1. In a transferrer arm for a reserve bobbin having a butt and tip, a foot on the arm to engage the butt end of the bobbin, a second foot on the arm for engagement of the bobbin intermediate the butt and tip thereof, and a third foot for engagement of the bobbin adjacent to the tip thereof secured to the second foot in adjusted vertical position relatively to the first and second feet to engage bobbins of different weft diameters.
2. In a transferrer arm for a reserve bobbin having a butt and tip, a foot on the arm to engage the butt end of the bobbin, a second foot on the arm for engagement of the bobbin intermediate the butt and tip thereof, a third foot for engagement of the bobbin adjacent to the tip thereof, and slot and screw means to secure the third foot to the second foot in adjusted vertical position relatively to the transferrer arm to engage bobbins of different weft diameters.
3. In a transferrer arm for a reserve bobbin having a butt and tip, a foot on the arm to engage the butt end of the bobbin, a second foot on the arm for engagement of the bobbin intermediate the butt and tip thereof, a carrier for the second foot extending from the latter toward the bobbin tip, a body of deformable resilient material for engagement with the bobbin adjacent to the tip thereof clamped to said carrier, and means securing said carrier to the second foot in vertically adjusted position relatively to the second foot to enable said body of material to engage Weft bobbins of different diameters.
4. In a carrier for a transferrer arm, said carrier comprising a flat body formed with two flanges one of which is adapted for attachment to the transferrer arm, and a foot secured to the other flange for engagement with the bobbin adjacent to the tip thereof.
5. In a carrier for a transferrer arm, said carrier comprising a body formed with laterally spaced vertical flanges one of which is adapted for attachment to the transferrer arm, and a bobbin engaging foot secured to the other flange.
6. In a carrier for a transferrer arm, said carrier comprising a flat body having laterally spaced vertical flanges formed thereon one of which is adapted for attachment to the transferrer arm, a foot for the other flange to engage the bobbin adjacent to the tip thereof, and means including a vertical plate securing the foot to said other flange.
