i Claims. 1
This invention relates to a compact and particularly to a structure of compact including a mirror and an illuminating means. Girls and women now wish frequently to examine and refresh their makeup. It is often desirable to do this in the dark or where there is a very poor light. Ladies restrooms and retiring rooms are often very poorly lighted. It is desirable therefore to have a compact with a mirror and means for illuminating the same and the face of the user.
It is an object of this invention therefore to provide a compact adapted to contain a battery and a lamp bulb illuminated thereby, together with a mirror, said lamp bulb being positioned in respect to said mirror to give convenient and efficient illumination.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a compact comprising a comparatively shallow casing, a battery, preferably of the dry type, disposed in one end of said casing, the same having a lamp socket at one end with a lamp bulb tting therein and extending upwardly therefrom, together with a mirror disposed adjacent said lamp bulb, said bulb projecting above the surface of said mirror.
It is more specifically an object of the invention to provide a compact comprising a comparatively shallow casing preferably of substantially rectangular form in plan, a flashlight battery disposed in one end of said casing having a lamp socket at its inner end, a lamp bulb disposed in said socket and extending upwardly therefrom, a movable plate of approximately the same area as said casing, said plate being positioned with one end portion disposed over Said battery, a mirror carried 'by said end portion having its reflecting surface directed upwardly, said surface being somewhat below said lamp bulb, said mirror being disposed between said bulb and one end of said casing, said plate at its other end portion being provided with chambers, one of which is adapted to receive rouge and a rouge puff or pad and the other of which is adapted to receive a lipstick, coin or other article-receiving chambers being formed beneath said plate. The cover of said casing can conveniently contain powder and a powder puff.
These and other objects and advantages of the invention will be fully set forth in the following description made in connection with the accompanying drawings in which like reference characters refer to similar parts throughout the several views and in which:
