1 Claim.

The primary object of the invention, of which the accompanying drawings are illustrative, is the provision of means whereby a window shade, curtain, and drape may be supported upon common brackets.

This invention has for another object to provide a shade fixture adaptable for either" a roller shade or Venetian blind.

Another object of the invention is to provide in a shade fixture a detachable curtain rod fixture.

A further object of this invention is to provide in a single fixture a bracket arm adapted to support either a shade roller or a Venetian blind supporting pin, a detachable crane support, and a detachable curtain rod bracket.

A still further object of the invention is to provide in a curtain rod bracket means for preventing accidental displacement of the rod from the bracket.

Other features and advantages will become more readily apparent from the following description and the accompanying illustrative drawings in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the invention shown attached to a window facing and Figure 2 is-a perspective view of a modification.

While one embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the above referred to drawings, it is to be understood that they are merely for the purpose of illustration and that various changes in construction may be resorted to in the course of manufacture in order that the invention may be utilized to the best advantage according to circumstances which may arise, without in any way departing from the spirit and intention of the device which is to be limited only in accordance with the appended claims. And while there is stated the primary field of utility of the invention it remains obvious that it may be employed in any other capacity wherein it maybe found applicable.

In the accompanying drawings, and in the following specification, the same reference characters are used to designate the same parts and elements throughout and in which III has reference to the complete invention which consists of a preferably oblong rectangular body II, the upper end l2 of which is provided with a rightangular flange l3 provided with apertures l4 and I5, whereby the fixture may be secured to the upper edge l6 of a window facing II. The body has projecting at right angles from its inner edge It a pintle support l9 with a vertical slot (or a bore in the mate bracket not shown) for the pintle of a shade roller, and also an inclined slot 2| for a pin of a Venetian blind. The slot 2| terminates in twin recesses 22 and 23 into either of which the blind pin may automatically seat according to the angle of the slots thereof. A button 24 pivoted adjacent said recesses is adapted to lock the blind pin in either one or the other of the recesses.

From the edge 25 of the body H are project ing spaced tongues 26 and 21, which are formed into rectangular vertical apertured supports or barrels 23 and 29 between which is adapted to seat a like support or barrel30; and above the member 28 and below the member 29 is adapted to be held similar supporting members or barrels 3| and 32 of a preferably arcuate outwardly extending arm 33 terminating at its outer end 34 in a tubular socket terminal 35 adapte'dto receive the rightangular end of a drape crane (not shown). The members or barrels 28, 29, 30, 3|, and 32 are detachably held together by a pin 36, rectangular in cross section to fit snugly the apertures of said members or barrels 29 to 32.

The member or barrel 30 has projecting therefrom a curtain pole supporting leaf 3'! with a horizontally disposed center resilient tongue 38. The furcations 39 and 40 of said leaf are shaped to receive the right-angular slotted ends (not shown) of a pair of curtainpoles adapted to sup port respectively a curtain and a valance. The tongue 38 will bear frictionally against both pole ends, whereby they will not become accidentally displacedmhrough handling of a curtain.

From the foregoing it will be seen that either the member 30, or 33, or both may be removed from said body II when not needed. Bores 4| and 42 are provided in the said upper end of the body H for nails or screws when the facing member I1 is too near a ceiling to drive the same into said edge Hi. The pin 38 is provided with a cap 43 as a retainer.

In Figure 2 of the drawings is illustrated a modification of the invention in which the body 44 is provided with bracket members 45 and 45'. The bracket member 45 is formed similarly to the bracket member 30 shown in Figure 1 of the drawings, while the bracket member 45' is formed integrally upon the edge 46 of the body 44 to extend in parallel spaced relation to the bracket member 45. In this form of the member the arm 41 is hingedly connected by the cylindrical spaced tube members 48 and 49 of member 41, and 50 and 5! of member 44, connected by the pintle or a fellow member ll.

aeeaseo 3 52. The purpose of having members iii hinged is in order that it may support a lambrequin pole of a length extending from the arm 41 to its mate As these poles (not shown) vary in length, the hinging of members '4! permit adjustment thereof to fit the pole.

From the foregoing specification it will become apparent that the invention disclosed will adequately accomplish the functions for which it has been designed and in an economical manner and that its simplicity, accuracy and ease of operation are such as to provide a relatively inexpensive device considering what it will accomplish and that it will find an important place in the art to which it appertains when once placed on the market.

It is thought that persons skilled in the art to which the invention relates will be able to obtain a clear understanding of the invention after considering the description in connection with the drawings. Therefore, a more lengthy description is regarded as unnecessary.

Changes in shape, size and rearrangement of details and parts such as come within the purview of the invention claimed may be resorted to, :5

in actual practice, if desired.

Having now described the invention that which is claimed to be new and desired to be procured by Letters Patent is:

A window shade and curtain fixture comprising a substantially rectangular body member having a supporting flange on its upper end for positioning upon the upper edge of a window facing, spaced barrels formed on one edge of said body member, curtain supporting fixture members formed with supporting barrels adapted to be aligned with said first-mentioned spaced barrels, all of said barrels being substantially square in cross-section, a pin adapted to extend through said barrels, said fixture members being adapted to be supported for use either simultaneously or individually, and a shade and blind holder formed integrally upon the opposite edge of said body member.
