WITNEEEES INVENTEIR Uwrreo STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS W. BROWN, OF BELMONT, MASSACHUSETTS.
EGG-BEATER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 238,565, dated March 8, 1881.
Application filed August 21, 1880.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS W. BROWN, of Belmont, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Egg-Beater, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to that class of eggbeaters in which the heaters are made to revolve around a vertical axis by means of a gear and pinion; and it consists in attaching the heaters to the pinion by means of an eyelet and without the intervention of any other device, the vertical axle passing through the central opening in the eyelet.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation of my egg-heater. Fig. 2 shows the driving-pinion, in perspective, and also the eyelet E. Fig. 3 is a section, showing the pinion, the bent ends of the heaters, and the eyelet, illustrating the method of attaching the parts together.
In Fig. 1, A represents the handle of the beater, A the driving-gear wheel, and D the pinion to which the revolving beaters B B are attached.
(No model.)
The vertical shaft H is fastened rigidlyinto the handle A, and has a boss, K, at its lower end.
Upon the shaft H, I attach two or more stationary heaters, G 0, so made as to conform and coact with the revolving heaters B B; but I do not confine myself to any form or numher of heaters.
My method of connecting the revolving heaters B B to the pinion D is to punch holes through the bent ends of the heaters B B, (see Fig. 3,) and then rivet the parts together by the eyelet E, as shown.
Having thus described my invention what I desire to secure by Letters Patent is In an egg-heater, the direct combination of 40 the heaters B B and the pinion D with the eyelet E, substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
THOMAS W. BROWN.
