SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 237,455, dated February 8, 1881.
Application filed May 20, 1880. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, EDWIN J. SWAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indian apolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Illuminated Push-Button for Electric Bells, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to illuminate the push-buttons of electric bells by constructing them of glass or some other transparent substance, or of glass and metal combined, or of some other transparent substance and metal combined, and illuminating them in the man ner hereinafter described.
The mechanism of my inventionis shown in the accompanying drawings, in whicha Figure 1 is a front view of the button and settings. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same. Fig. 3 is a section obtained by bisectin g along the line .00 yof Fig. 1. Fig. arepresents a side view of the push-button made entirelyof glass or other transparent substance.
