April 1944- w. R. KOHL FUMIGANT SUPPORT AND FUMIGANT Filed Oct. 29, 1940 Patented Apr. 4, 1944 UNITED STATES RATENT OFFICE FUMIGANT SUPPORT AND FUMIGANT William R. Kohl, Glenview, Ill. 7 Application October 29, 1940, Serial No. 363,260
3 Claims.
My invention is a fumigant support, and a combination with a volatizable medium. This application is an improvement upon my application S. N. 312,928, filed January 8, 1940.
My primary objects are simplicity of construction; minimum cost; and wide range of applica-- tion.
The drawing illustrates:
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the support.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view through line A-A of Fig. l, and a fumigant.
Fig. 3 is a broken sectional view on line A-A of Fig. 1, showing a pendent lug bent up for supporting cake, by pin or tack, through a hole.
Fig. 4 is a view illustrating method of supporting a fumigant cake on a wire garment hanger.
Fig. 5 is a view on line C-G (Fig. 4) showing pendent lug bent around the shank of garment hanger.
Fig. 6 is a sectional view on line BB (Fig. 1) showing method of supporting cake from center boss, engaged in a conventional snap fastener.
Fig. 7 is a view illustrating method of supporting a fumigant cake on a wire coat and hat hook.
As illustrated II] is preferably a circular metal disc, though it may take any geometrical form superficially. l I are a. plurality of arms punched out of the metal and each adapted to be bent at an oblique angle inwardly for a cake l8 of fumigant material to be cast upon the arms. I2 is a boss punched out of the body I and shaped to produce a member of a snap fastener. 13 is a lug punched out of the body l0 having sion including a, pair of ears [4 bearing incisions l adapted to fix the support on a wire garment hanger in a closet, as shown in Fig. 7. The lug I3 is designed to be bent upward as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, the incisions l5 designed to contact the parallel bars of the garment hangan exteniii the support and the volatile er 22, In Figs. 4 and 5, is shown the ears [4 bent around the neck of a wire garment hanger 20 of conventional type. I6 is an aperture punched through lug i3 designed to attach the device, with a nail or tack I9, to any desired structure. if is a structure preferably offibrous character having a contour registering with the metal body It and carries slits Ila through which the arms Ii pass straight before being bent, to be embedded in the cake I8, Ila is also designed to cover the several apertures produced by the punchings in the body. The surface of II is adsorptive and possesses a certain affinity for the composition of the volatile cake i8; 2| is the complementary portion of a conventional snapfastener.
I claim:
1. An article of manufacture comprising a base support for a. volatile material consisting of a semi-pliant metal form one surface of which has thereon a plurality of punched-out integral arms adapted to penetrate and retain thereon volatile material and on the reverse surface an integral punched out elongated lug bearing upon its ulterior extension an opposed pair of bendable ears.
2. A claim in accordance with claim 1 in which a transverse aperture lies in the lug extension.
3. An article of manufacture combining a support, a volatile material, a fibrous pad between material; the support consisting of a substantially flat semi-pliant metal body carrying on one side thereof a plurality of punched-out elongated arms, on the 0pposite side of the metal body an elongated punched-out portion terminating in a lug having supporting lateral extensions.
