The invention relates to improvements in garment bag supports especially adapted for use in supporting storage garment bags, which is of simple construction, capable of economical produotion, and highly efiicient in use.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

The invention consists of the combinations and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.

The invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, and in which Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a garment bag' support embodying the invention;

Fig. 3 a view similar to Fig. 2 but showing a modified form of construction;

Fig. 4 a similar View showing a modified form of construction;

Fig. 5 a partial top plan view of still another modified form of construction; and

Fig, 6 an enlarged partial section taken substantially on line 6-6 of Fig. 1.

The embodiment of the invention illustrated in Figs. 1, 2 and 6 comprises a rectangular wire frame l0 having the usual serrated central support II for supporting garment hangers and the usual supporting hooks l2 for suspending the frame on a rod or the like.

A supplemental supporting frame is formed of two pieces of wire having their central portions I3 bent into semi-circular form and their ends l4 twisted together to form supporting bars, the ends of said supporting bars being formed into hooks which are bent and compressed over the side bars of the frame [0 to position the said supplemental frame substantially in the same plane as the main frame and centrally in one end thereof. Each of the semi-circular portions 13 is provided with an outwardly extending loop I6 and a third supporting element ll is provided with hooks l8 engaging one of the loops I6 and the adjacent end bar of the frame H], as shown.

A cup-shaped receptacle IQ of a size to fit within the said supplemental supporting frame is provided at its top with an outwardly turned lip or flange resting over the top of the supplemental frame and withga central perforation 2|, as indicated.

By this arrangement a suitable support is provided for a moth cake or the like which will expose the said cake completely at the top and partially at the bottom for evaporation in a garment storage bag arranged in the usual way over the frame Ill. The specific form and arrangement of parts is a simple and effective construction for the purpose.

In the modification illustrated in Fig. 3, the supplemental frame 22 is formed of wire with four outwardly extending loops 23 in its sides. Three springs 24 are engaged as shown with three of the loops 23 and the adjacent side bars of the frame l9, thereby providing a resilient support for the supplemental frame and also a certain amount of adjustment to accommodate main frames of different sizes or shapes.

In the modification illustrated in Fig, 4 a simple circular supplemental frame 25 is formed of wire as shown and is supported by two supporting bars or wires 26 spot welded to opposite sides thereof.

In the modification illustrated in Fig. 5 triangular supplemental supporting frames are formed in opposite corners of the main frame It] by means of diagonal bars or Wires 2'! spot welded as shown to adjacent sides and ends of the main frame. In this instance, of course, the receptacle for the moth cake will have to have a corresponding triangular form.

While we have illustrated and described the preferred forms of construction for carrying our invention into effect, these are capable of variation and modification Without departing from the spirit of the invention. We therefore do not wish to be limited to the precise details disclosed but desire to avail ourselves of such variations and modifications as fall within the scope of the appended claim.

We claim:

A support of the class described comprising a main supporting frame; a supplemental frame formed of two pieces of wire bent centrally into semi-circular form having their ends secured together by twisting to form supporting elements, said supporting elements being secured to opposite sides of said main frame, one side of said supplemental frame being provided with a central loop; a third supporting element secured to said loop and to the adjacent side of said main frame; and a receptacle suspended in said supplemental frame.
