HORSESHOE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 228,533, dated June 8, 1880.
Application filed October 17, 1879.
To all whom "it may concern:
Be-it known that I, WM. H. HULINGs, of Menlo Park, county of San Mateo, State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Horseshoes; and I hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
The invention consists in the combination of devices, as hereinafter described and claimed.
Figure l is a view of a shoe with a toe weight attached. Fig. 2 shows the toe-weight detached and the removable piece for filling the socket in the shoe.
In the said drawings, 0 is a shoe having a weight, A, attached by means of a dovetailed shank, B, fitting in a eorrespondingly-shaped slot, a, in the shoe, and secured by a screw. When this weight is removed the shoe becomes a. plain ordinary shoe, with no projections or additions to interfere with the horses action.
