It will be here noted that the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4 are in connected relation with the end frame members I and Z and are substantially co-extensive therewith. The spool supporting frame member 3 is provided with holes 3a. and 3b which align with the holes Ia and lb of the end frame member I, as shown best in Fig. 6 of the drawings. The end frame member I is also provided with rows of holes Ia and Id. These holes Ia and Id are arranged to receive the gear latch members I8, as shown best in Fig. 3 of the drawings.
Positioned in the Spool supporting frame mem ber 3 and in alignment with the rows of holes lo and Id are the rows of holes 30 and 3d.' As shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings, these holes 30 and 3d are in alignment'with the gear teeth of the spool operating gears I3, I4 and I5. Positioned in the holes lo and Id in alignment with the holes 30 and 3d are the gear latch members I9 which are operatively engageable with the gear teeth of the spool operating gears I3, I 4, I5 and I6. Each of these gear latch members I9 is provided with a shank portion I9a which extends through the end frame member I and the spool supporting frame member 3, shown best in Fig. 3 of the drawings. These gear latch members I9 are each provided with a handle portion I917 on one end and a semi-circular in cross section latch portion I90 on the opposite end from the handle portion I91), all as shown best in Fig. 3 of the drawings.
The end frame member 2 is a substantially flat plate-like member having similar outline shape to the end frame member I. This end frame member 2 does not have any openings therein as does the end frame member I. Each of the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4 is provided with upwardly inclined slotted bearing portions which are open at the outer opposite edges of said spool supporting frame members 3 and 4, as shown best in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings. These slotted bearing portions 3e and 3f are each provided with arcuate portions 39 at their inner ends arranged to receive the bearing end portions of the broadloom supporting spools 5, 6, I and 8, as shown best in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings.
Secured to the opposite edges of the end frame members I and [by means of the hinges 9a and Illa are the frame edge cover members 9 and I0. These frame edge cover members 9 and I?! are flat plate-like members preferably made of wood and are arranged to cover the edges of the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4 at the open end portions of the slotted bearing portions 3e and '31, all as shown best in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings. These frame edge covermembers 9 and If! are arranged to be pivotally shifted away from the edge portions of the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4 when inserting one of the broadloom supporting spools 5, B, I or 8 into the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4.
The operating handle II is preferably circular in form, as shown inFigs. 4 and 6 of the drawings and this operating handle II is connected with the operating handle gear I2 by means of the shaft III), as shown best in Fig. 6 of the drawings. This shaft III) is revolubly mounted in the shank portion II a and this shank portion I Ia is provided with an enlarged end portion I I0 arranged to form an abutment at the outer side of the end frame member I, as indicated in Fig. l of the drawings.
The broadloom supporting spools 5, 6, I and 8 are substantially identical in form and therefore the broadloom supporting spool 5 will be described in detail. This broadloom supporting spool 5 is provided with a central tubular shaft member 5a, the opposite ends of which are arranged to engage the slotted bearing portions 36 or 3 of the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4.
Secured on the shaft member 5a near its one end is the spool operating gear I3. This spool operating gear I3 is substantially identical to the spool operating gears I4, I5 and I5 which are conventional spur gears. Positioned on the shaft member 50. adjacent the spool operating gear I3 is a disc-shaped end member 5b which is substantially identical in form to the disc-shaped member 50 positioned on and near the opposite end of the shaft 511, as shown best in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings. Secured on the inner sides of each of these disc-like members 5b and 5c are smaller disc-shaped plates 5d and 56. Secured on these smallerdisc- shaped plates 5d and 5e are slats 5 These slats 51 extend longitudinally and in parallel relation with the shaft 5a and are connected at their opposite ends with the disc-shaped members 511 and 56, as shown best in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings, the elevator shaft 20 is journalled at its opposite ends in the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4 at substantially the middle thereof and secured on this elevator shaft 20 adjacent the spool supporting frame member 3 is the elevator shaft operating gear 2|. This gear 2I is substantially the same diameter and form as the spool operating gears I3, I I, I5 and I5. Positioned in the spool supporting frame member 3 and the end frame member I is an opening 2m,
whichopening 2Ia is outwardly of the periphery of the elevator operating gear 2| and this opening 2 Ia is arranged to receive the operating handle gear I2 and is arranged to guide the same into mesh with the elevator operating gear 2|, as shown best in Fig. 4 of the drawings.
Pivotally mounted at opposite sides of the elevator operating gear ZI are the elevator latch members 25 and 25. These elevator latch members 24 and 25 are arranged to be pivotally shifted by the semi-circular in cross section latch portions I of the gear latch members It, all as shown best in Fig. 2 of the drawings. As shown in Fig. 4 of the drawings the gear latch members I 9 extend through the end frame member I and the spool supporting frame member 3 in cooperative relation with the elevator latch members 24 and 25 at opposite sides of the elevator operating gear ZI.

When his desired to position brcadloom material upon one of the broadloom supporting spools 5, 6, 1 or 8,- one end of the piece of broadloom material is secured by tacks or otherwise on thelongitudinallydisposed slats thereof and the operating handle, together with the operating handle gear I2, is arranged in cooperative relation with: one of the holes la or lb whereby the operating handle gear 12 is in meshed relation with one of the spool operating gears I3, I4, E5 or' iii in connection with the broadloom supporting spool tobe operated. The operating handle I I-is then revolved and the operating handle gear l2 revolves the broadloom supporting spool in connection with the spool operating gear in mesh therewith. Thus the broadloom material is positioned on the broadloom supporting spool.
.When it is desired to change the position of aloaded broadloom supporting spool, as shown in Fig. 5 of the drawings, a strap A is positioned around each opposite end of the roll A of broadloom material and the elevator chains 22 and 23 are connected therewith. The operating handle II in connection with the operating handle gear I2 is arranged to operate the elevator operating gear 2! on the elevator shaft 2!! which is arranged to enroll the elevator chains 22 and 23 thereon.
It will be here noted that the slotted bearing portions 3e and 3] in the spool supporting frame members 3 and 4 are arranged to provide various spaced relation of the broadloom supporting spools 5, 6, l and 8 depending upon the diameter thereof when loaded with broadloom material. The gear latch members I9 are revolubly shifted into engagement with the spool operating gears I3, I 4, l5 and I6 and the semi-circular in cross section latch portions IEO of these gear latch The brackets 3i and 32 are each operating .gears,-. as" shown best in Fig; 3 of the' drawingsr When turned a quarter of a revolution, .these' semi-circular in cross section latch portions=l9c are disengaged fromthe gear'teeth of the spool operating gears l3, [4, land It, asdesired. The semi-circular in cross section latch portions We of the gear latch members l9 which engage the "elevator latch members 2e and 25' act as cams for pivoting the elevator latch members 24 and 25 into and out of engagement with the-elevator shaft operating gear 2| for holding the same in fixed position against revoluble operation in either direction, as desired:
As shown in Fig. 5 of the drawings, the'pule ley 28 supported on the pulley supporting member 29 may be extended outwardly into any position as desired depending upon the diameter of the roll:of broadloom material being sup-' ported on the elevator chains 22 and 23. When the roll A of broadloom material is elevated to. the proper elevated position relatively with the slotted bearing portions 3e and 3 in thespool supporting frame members 3 and 4, the pulley supporting member 29 may be telescoped into the pulley supporting members 39 shlftlng'the roll A of broadloom material toward the open portion of said slotted bearing portions 36 and 3] for positioning opposite ends of the broadloom supporting spool shaft in said slotted bearing portions 3e'or 3], as desired.
Thoughrl haveshown and described a particular construction, combination and arrangement of partsand portions, I do not wish to be limited to this particular construction, combination and arrangement, but desire to include in. the scope of my invention the construction, combi-' nation and arrangement substantially as set forth in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as'new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spool supporting frame members provided with open inwardly and downwardly" extending slotted bearing portions at their edges, broadloorn supporting spools having shaft bearing portions positioned in said slotted bearing portions, said spool supporting frame members having rows of openings therein parallel with said slotted bear ing portions, a spur gear supported on each of said broadloomsupporting spools near one end thereof and a handleprovided with a pinion gear revolublypositioned 'in one of said openings in cooperative relation with cne'of said spur gears.
2. In a :broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spoolsupporting frame members provided with open inwardly and downwardly extending slotted bearing portions at their edges, broadloom supporting spools having shaft bearing portions positioned in said slotted bearing portions, said spool supporting frame members having rows of openings therein parallel with said slotted bearing portions, a spur gear supported on each of said broadloom supporting spools near one end thereof, a handle provided with a pinion gear revolubly positioned in one of said openings in cooperative relation with one of said spur gears, and latch means in cooperative relation with said spur gears.

In a broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spool supportmembers .lsaengaae the gear teeth of. thespool ing frame members provided with open inwardly and downwardly extending slotted bearing portions at their edges, broadloom supporting spools having shaft bearing portions positioned in said slotted bearing portions, said spool supporting frame members having rows of openings therein parallel with said slotted bearing portions, a spur gear supported on each of said broadloom supporting spools near one end thereof, a handle provided with a pinion gear revolubly positioned in one of said openings in cooperative relation with one of said spur gears, latch means in cooperative relation With said spur gears, and elevator means arranged to lift said broadloom supporting spools relatively with said spool supporting frame members.

In a broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spool supporting frame members, broadloom supporting spools revolubly mounted in connection with said spool supporting frame members, a spur gear in connection with each of said broadloom supporting spools, said spool supporting frame members provided with openings therein near each of said gears and an operating handle with a pinion gear in connection therewith revolubly positioned in one of said openings and in meshed relation with one of said spur gears.

In a broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spool sup porting frame members, broadloom supporting spools revolubly mounted in connection with said spool supporting frame members, a spur gear in connection with each of said broadloozn supporting spool-s, said spool supporting frame members provided with openings therein near each of said gears, an operating handle with a pinion gear in connection therewith revolubly positioned in one of said openings and in meshed relation with one of said spur gears, and latch means in operative relation with said spur gears.

In a broadloorn exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spool supporting frame members, broadloom supporting spools revolubly mounted in connection with said spool supporting frame members, a spur gear in connection with each of said broadloom supporting spools, said spool supporting frame members iii provided with openings therein near each of said gears, an operating handle with a pinion gear ing frame members, broadloom supporting spools revolubly mounted in connection with said spool supporting frame members, a spur gear in connection with each of said broadloom supporting spools, said spool supporting frame members provided with openings therein near each of said gears, an operating handle with a pinion gear in connection therewith revolubly positioned in one of said openings and in meshed relation with one of said spur gears, said operating handle having said pinion gear rigidly connected therewith and a shank portion in revoluble relation with said handle arranged to fit in said openings.
8; In a broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spool supporting frame members, broadloom supporting spools revolubly mounted in connection with said spool supporting frame members, a spur gear in connection with each of said broadloom supporting spools, said spool supporting frame members provided with openings therein near each of said gears, an operating handle with a pinion gear in connection therewith revolubly positioned in one of said openings and in meshed relation with one of said spur gears, said operating handle having said pinion gear rigidly connected therewith, and a shank portion in revoluble relation with said handle arranged to fit in said openings, each of said broadloom supporting spools provided with longitudinally disposed slats and discshaped end members.

In a broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of spaced spool supporting frame members, broadloorn supporting spools revolubly mounted in connection with said spool supporting frame members, a spur gear in connection with each of said broadloom supporting spools, said spool supporting frame members provided with openings therein near each of said gears, an operating handle with a pinion gear in connection therewith revolubly positioned in one of said openings and in meshed relation with one of said spur gears, and elevator means in connection with said spool supporting members and arranged to elevate said spools relatively therewith.
10. In a broadloom exhibitor of the class described, the combination of two substantially vertical rows of broadloom supporting spools,
spool supporting frame members at opposite ends thereof, an elevator shaft parallel with and between said rows of broadloom supporting spools, rollers stationarily mounted above said elevator shaft, pulleys outwardly of said rollers and shiftable therewith and elevator chains connected with said elevator shaft and extending over said rollers and said pulleys above said substantially vertical rows of broadloom supporting spools.
