Fig. 5 is a fragmentary section taken substantially along the line 5-5 in Fig. 3.
As a preferred embodiment of the instant invention the drawing discloses a rectangular shaped, sheet metal tablet box which includes a bodymember Il and a vcover member I2 which are permanently connected by a floating hinge I3. These members are preferably of a onepiece die-drawn construction.
'I'he body member II comprises a flat bottom wall section I5 which at its outer edges merges into a continuous surrounding upright or body wall. 'Ihe body wall includes a front wall section- I6, a rear or hinge wall section |1, and a pair of connecting side wall sections I8. These wall sections are preferably of the same height thereby making a smooth and straight top or terminal edge for the body.
The cover member l2 comprises a semi-riattened dome-shaped top wallv section 2| which at its outer edges merges into a continuous surrounding and depending flange wall. This flange wall includes a front wall section 22, a rear hinge wall section 23, and. a pair of connecting side wall sections 24.

The top wal1'section12l 'of the cover is vformed with affpair, of'rfu1crum-,bosses 21,1one-.fon-each side, adjacent .theeside wallsections 24 eachboss being bent inwardly or indented into they wall as `bossesyrest.ontheterminal edge. oi `the b ody II when Ethel; cover is in @place thereon. The ends of the pintle projectbeyond tha-lug vvand extend linto andoperate v vithin a v pair of slgiacefi.fand. vertically. elbn'satedhinge lugs '311 formed onthey rear wallflfl ofl the body.
vProvision is made for locking the pintle 35 in predetermined positions within its elongated hinge lugs 31. For this purpose each elongated lug 31 intermediate its width is formed with an inwardly extending indentation 38 which divides the lug into two pintle locking sections, an upper lug section 4| and a lower lug section 42. Cooperating with the indentation 38 there is a similar indentation or bead 44 which extends outwardly from the ybody rear wall section. This bead is located between the elongated hinge lugs 31 and is in horizontal alignment with the lug indentations 3B.
When the cover is in closed position on fthe body with the fulcrum bosses 21 resting on the top edge of the body side wall sections I8 and with the cover locking nodes 3|, 32 engaged one within the other, the ends of the hinge pintle 35 are locked in the upper lug section 4| of the elongated lugs 31 with the pintle resting on the indentations 38 and the pintle lug 36 resting .on the bead 44. 'I 'o open the cover it is merely necessary to press or pinch the rear edges of the cover and body members together. Such a pinching action rocks the cover on itsfulcrum bosses 21.
Rocking of the cover raises its front edge and thus disengages the locking nodes 3|, 32 thereby releasing the cover and placing it into a partially opened position, as shown in Fig. 4. This same rocking action of the cover depresses the These cover wall sections extend cover hinge lug 36 and the pintle 35 carried Vtherein. The cover hinge lug snaps over the hinge locking bead 44 and the pintle pushes past the indentations 38 in the body hinge lugs 31. This action brings the pintle into the llower lug sections 42. 'I'he pintle is now locked in the lower lug sections 42 fwhere it remains while the cover is raised into a full open position to gain access to the interior of the box.
Whenthe cover is againclosed down ron'the body the hinge pintle moves up fromv the lowerlug sections l2 and snaps into the upper lu'g sections 4| where it is again locked. At the same time the locking nodes at the-front edge; of the box are re-engaged. Hence the cover is locked along both `its front and itsrear edges and this,`
prevents accidental opening ofthe cover.
its attendant advantages willbe understood from merely a preferred-embodiment thereof.
