  • BACKGROUND
  • Individuals who regularly engage in board and card games often seek new and engaging options to maintain the enjoyment of social gatherings. Traditional games, while initially exciting, can lose their appeal through repeated use, leading participants to experience boredom or disengagement. This issue is particularly pronounced among families and groups of friends who meet with the intention of fostering social interaction through gameplay. Without a constant influx of novel and accessible games, the likelihood of maintaining consistent and enthusiastic participation diminishes. Existing games may also fail to offer simplicity across a broad range of ages and skill levels, further limiting their accessibility. In addition, many contemporary gaming experiences are digitally focused, causing a reduction in direct, face-to-face human interaction. The need for an in-person game that is simple, engaging, and adaptable is critical to sustaining meaningful social experiences.
  • Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a rock paper scissors wild card game that provides an entertaining and easy-to-understand experience for users of varying ages and skill levels. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a rock paper scissors wild card game that introduces strategic twists to maintain excitement and prevent predictability in gameplay. Moreover, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a rock paper scissors wild card game that encourages in-person social interaction rather than reliance on online or digital platforms.
  • The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a rock paper scissors wild card game. The game is comprised of a set of fifty-six cards configured to facilitate a two-player, in-person card game. The fifty-six cards comprise fifteen rock cards each displaying a unique animated indicia representing rock, fifteen paper cards each displaying a unique animated indicia representing paper, fifteen scissors cards each displaying a unique animated indicia representing scissors, six standard wild cards designed to provide strategic advantages, three real wild cards capable of defeating all other cards and enabling the acquisition of cards from an opponent, and two instruction cards displaying rules and procedures for gameplay. During gameplay, the cards are thoroughly shuffled and evenly distributed between two players, with each player holding cards face down to prevent premature viewing. Players chant “ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS” aloud to initiate each round, laying down their topmost card to determine the winner according to standard rock, paper, scissors rules, with the wild cards introducing additional strategic dynamics.
  • In this manner, the rock paper scissors wild card game of the present invention accomplishes all the forgoing objectives and provides a fun and accessible game suitable for users of all ages and skill levels. The game further addresses the need for strategic depth and variability through the incorporation of standard and real wild cards that prevent gameplay from becoming repetitive.
